What Is This Part? (R33)

Found it in the boot, towards the left behind the panel mounted up against the car jack, looks like a pully that was MEANT to have a pull cable running in it but it was disconnected when I saw it, the pull cable runs towards the bottom part of the shell and has a rubber grommet that leads into the shell, never knew what it was... Anyone else know what it is?

i have this, i just use it as the jack holder....lol, slides right in sits still put the little black bag down under it all

Looks like the cable mechanism for the muffler straight-through valve.

I didn't think R33's had this option but it was offered on some 32's.

A bit like the Varex system but controlled by road speed, rpm etc to open up and give a straight through rear muffler.

When shut you had the nice quiet muffler for city driving.
