dont look at the price of fibreglass and go, wow thats soo much cheaper, as you have to include the cost of painting it, which means they overspray onto your fenders etc to get color matching the best...

last time i got a quote for this i think $300 was the cheapest..

ad that to your $595 gives you almost $900.. its still cheaper then the carbon at $1100 but not half like you guys are thinking

LOL once again....more dilemma is it legal lol!! I wouldnt trust the DOT every one of em say a different thing its a serious worry! Oh well still tell me which option you think is the go...

Believe me, the DOT are not the ones handing out the tickets, the Cops are, and they follow a TOTALLY SEPERATE set of legislations and laws that the DOT, basically got told by several different policeman the same story, it does not matter what the DOT tell you, anything that does not come as stock or optional extra from the factory is a defect and will be sent to DOT for rectification.

Here's where it starts getting stupid, because the DOT regulates on a differen set of laws and regulations, they might see your modification as legal, but unless it has a mod plate the cops can defect you for it.

Basically you will still get a fine from the police, but wont be charged for anything by the DOT. Crazy aint it!

Yeap, it sucks, according to DOT neons are legal to have on 100% of the time as long as they are not red, blue, yellow or white and do not flash, but the law that the police uphold states all forms of underbody lighting is illegal whilst the car is in motion, OR if it is distracting other motorist on public thoroughfares.

Absolutly craptacular!

MJ: that is because full CF will not buckle in an accident and slam through the windscreen.

I have a CF bonnet and love it, I have been pulled over twice and both times had no hassles, just questions.

I would go for carbon fibre, Might get someone to take a photo of mine this thursday so you can see how it looks, I also have a white 33.

They are only for looks, even real CF on a street car will save you max 6-8kg of weight, unless you are going for a sub 10 sec time, big deal. However my car does run alot coooler in terms of underbonnet temps due to the vents.

I got mine because it worked out cheaper than buying a stock bonnet an having it painted after my last bonnet was buggered.
