gold stain over cams and inside covers?

I just brought a new engine and took cam covers off, everything looks like its gold plated. My old engine which had about 80,000 on it is completly clean no disscolouring. OK its fair to say that the stain is from oil but is it a sign that this engine has excessive blow buy or would this happen because the oil may have not been changed in ages? This engine has 100,000 on it.

I bought a second hand RB25DE head. Everything was a normal colour.

I wouldn't be too worried.. My RB20t used to run on Hot (dodgy coolant temp sensor that read coldish) and I didn't realise or understand why the overflow bottle was constantly bubbling. It ran like that all summer until I realised my thermo's wern't working well enough to keep it cool. Hence its not gold underneath.
