Simple Q? Can u easily re-gap OEM Nissan Platinum Plugs,...as you can with copper?..Not talking Irridium now, Just Platinum (if there is a diff?)

Gone to 9psi. still at 1.2mm, my fault, I know now!!!(0.8mm!!)

Practical responses by members much appreciated!!

well once u take them out you hit the head down bit by bit till it is a 0.8mm gap. Thats how I was told to do it. And then you check on those little ruler thingy's that you slide the plug along to make sure your gap is correct. But I'd rather go and by new plugs that are gapped correctly just incase I stuff up something.

that's the thing CR33, the plugs are only 2 weeks old @ $26.50 each. Don't want to buy new ones ...ever again. (that's why I steered clear of Coppers, I just don't want to pull everything out again just to do plugs!!) I've heard that copper is slightly superior in output, but I won't notice.

So there is no physical diff b/w plugs? that's all I was after.....

you rock!

thanx bro!

The best way ive found to gap iridiums (same principle for platinums because you have to be careful) is to not use a hammer.

Use a bench vice.

You put the plug on the outside of the vice, with the spark plug earth strip (the bit you bend down to the electrode) and slowly tighten the vice untill the gap is acheived. This way its impossible to damage the tip, or break off the earth strip.
