I need to remove the transmission and replace the flex plate cause the starter ring gear is mashed in some areas and the starter grinds.

What info can you guys offer removing the transmission for the home diy. Any special tools required other than the dude swinging the wrenches? where can i get a manual for this procedure?

Undo the various wiring loom connectors, then the bolts, then stand back.

Make sure you remember to undo the torque converter bolts before undoing the bellhousing bolts. Otherwise you'll end up frustrated and covered in auto fluid.
