Cheap Shitbox For Skids

As the title suggests, I want a cheap shitter to rip some hektik skids in. I currently have a HSV Manta to take me to and from the train station, but it is an auto and drives like a boat.

Something RWD, manual, cheap and most of all fun to drive is what I'm after. Any ideas? Budget is about $3-4k.
