knore
Wtf? some of these dont make any logical sence. Like the queensland rail fines .. where drinking alcohol has a less fine than drinking softdrink. Failing to stop at a red light is only $135 but using a mobile while driving is $225, and going 20 over is $250 now what more dangerous, running a red light or talking on your mobile. Hmmm Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/42428-a-friendly-reminder/#findComment-867107 Share on other sites
predator
I wouldn't be complaining too much. Most of those fines are about 50% less cost involved than Victoria. And if you get $150 fine or above you can pay it off over 3 months! how easy is that. Again -no way in Victoria. You get a $300 fine you gotta pay $300 straight up. And who said that eating and drinking while driving was a demeritable fine? I don't see any mention in there?? japtaxi
more dangerous is drink/drug and drive but since politicians do it, so they can get away with it. going off topic a little bit while browsing other pages of transport.... QT - Step 2 getting started page quote: "Introduce driving skills ... in the back paddock." good to see they showed some good ol' bogan-ness and encourage youngies to bush bashing. Oz
ok now this is f**king dumb as I person that rides a push bike on the roads a lot this is why ppl get killed on bikes Roundabouts (s111, s119) (THIS IS 4 CARS) --> The drivers of vehicles who want to turn right at two-lane roundabouts are required to enter the roundabout and complete the turn, from the right hand lane. --> As a cyclist, you are exempt from this requirement and may enter the roundabout and complete a right hand turn from either the left lane or the right lane. --> As a cyclist, if you choose to make a right turn from the left lane, you are effectively changing lanes each time you ride past an exit. As such, you must give way to any vehicle that is crossing your path to leave the roundabout. Cyclists may turn right from the right lane of two-lane roundabouts Cyclists may also turn right from the left lane of two-lane roundabouts, but must give way to vehicles that cross their path Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/42428-a-friendly-reminder/#findComment-867700 Share on other sites
Oz
so as to what I said above being on a bike if you r riding around the round about in the left lane you have to look over ur shoulder & see if any cars r going to exit befor you ride across the exit but you can also ride in the right lane & slow traffic while you ride around the round about in the right lane befor you exit WHAT THE F**K sorry put some one needs to take a look at the road rules !!!!!! sorry 4 going off but the amount of ppl I have doing dumb shit around me while I am riding is well yeah not funny Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/42428-a-friendly-reminder/#findComment-867722 Share on other sites

krawler
I find it immensly amusing the way police focus on "speed" and defects when out on patrol, yet the most dangerous manouvers are performed by Joe Average in his camry doing the speed limit or below in a stock car. In fact, if I was in a ranting mood I reckon I could fill 4 or 5 pages. But I'm not. So I'll substitute it all with an emoticon. Oz
*there there Mike* Hey Eug don't "there there Mike" me mate you get out on a bike & go 4 a good 50km ride & see how many times u almost get nailed by cars then you will see were I am coming from I F***ing hate it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/42428-a-friendly-reminder/#findComment-867753 Share on other sites
Eug
lol.. I have Mike.. I've ridden from the westside to the southside... Depends on what kinda people are riding... I see phuckwits who ride in the middle of the road when there's a desginated bike path for them... (not saying your one of them) but those people do not indicate when they're slowing down. turning, hold up traffic, and weave in between cars to get to the front of the pack (at a red light) - alah they hold the whole pack up... all depends on the driver AND the cyclist. Oz
but also with that when I get cruzing (60km/h) riding on the bike path is not to safe I stick to the bike lane's where I can but the thing that really shits me is when ppl come so close to you that they hit you with there side mirror even when there is a bike lane or just cut infront of you to go around the corner instead of waiting 4 you to ride past the street Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/42428-a-friendly-reminder/#findComment-867782 Share on other sites
knore
When will the police get a brain and realise that focusing on a minority (skylines etc) doesnt affect road safety whatsoever. Mainly because.... WE ARE A MINORITY! Idiots, if they took every skyline off the road it would affect accident/road safety by like 0.05%. Because there is hardly any of us. Focus on commodores for example, and your getting somewhere because there is shitloads of them. Common sence mr popo man I thought people joined the police to 'make a difference'. The only things i see police doing are fining people for driving offeences or stopping teenagers and searching their bags for some weed. This isnt making a difference to society. And how Drink Driving is a less of a punishment than speeding is beyond me, what a joke. / Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/42428-a-friendly-reminder/#findComment-867794 Share on other sites
Eug
understandable Mike... Caillan, it aint ALL the commodores either... anyone can be an idiot in any car... cops just focus too heavily on the skylines cos of the high performance import factor... everyone assumes u want a skyline so you can drive fast... they're not wrong:aroused: but we're responsible lil SAUers right?!
