I originally put this suggestion in the ideas and feedback section but I dont think anybody saw it. Just thinking seeing as this is a Skyline website for Skyline enthusiasts, it makes sense to have a For Sale section which is broken up into 'Skylines' and 'Other Makes'. Then within 'Skylines' have a breakdown of all the different series (ECR33, BNR34 etc.) It would make searching for cars much easier and efficient, and save people having to sift through all the 'selling the wife's Mazda 121' ads. The GTR owners club UK website has set theirs out in this fashion and it is evidently a lot easier to use and navigate.

Good idea, though downside would be the advertising of interchangeability parts. Eg. most suspension parts off a R33 will go onto a R34 leading to duplicate posts in multiple sub forums.

It'l be good to categorize it down to Panels, Motors, Gearbox and other sub categories, but likewise it will still be hard to regulate duplicate posts as the current system allows people to view various ad titles for different parts rather than just categorized and having people need to go into multiple sub forums. It's not a hard thing to do, but many people will tend to not be bothered for another click or two.

I meant this idea to be for Private whole cars only, not for Private car parts :). E.g.. selling an R34 GTR nur spec, have it listed under the BNR 34 section. Likewise selling an R33 gtst, have it under ECR 33. It would make things a lot easier and more organised. Nothing worse than sifting through piles of ads on cars totally unrelated to Skylines just so you can find the ad for the mint R32 GTR you saw posted a week ago.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't see how adding sub-forums increases the risk on sales of scammers for whole cars only?

I do agree on splitting it into general series as mentioned by Luke (31, 32, 33, 34, 35) and "others." Maybe also raises a question why there are so many non-skylines (and R35) for sale :P

It indeed would be better if it was bnr34, bnr32, ecr33, etc. Series (r32, r33, etc) is still too generic for people looking for a GTR as opposed to a GTS-t or vice versa, for example.

so youd have(and this is rough):

Ok, for anyone that's interested and any admin that can actually make this happen, I've made a flow chart to highlight exactly what I mean. Only problem with this approach is some people not knowing what series/build code there car is. To alleviate this I have included the common names next to each series. To be honest, when I was searching for my current GTR it only made sense that the first place I looked was a forum for GTR/Skyline enthusiasts. Suprisingly though, I found myself siftintg through loads of ads for random mazdas, commodores, family wagons, audis etc. (as there aren't usually many R34 GTRs for sale at any given time I was going back pages) - hardly what you would expect from a motoring enthusiast website dedicated to Nissan Skylines/GTRs.
