Correct Oil?

Hey,

Im due to Service my R32 Gts-t this week (RB20DET)

and was just wondering what to look for when choosing the best oil for my car.

im pretty much set on some Motul oil .. however i have no idea what weight i should get?

Any help would be much appreciated

A week ago I filled up with Motul 8100 X-cess. Claims to be a full ester synthetic (tho doesnt have that plastic smell a la Neo/Amsoil/Fuchs GT1). 5w-40, No more lifter noise, very smooth at idle, at around $60 for 5L I am very impressed.

The best motul u can buy that i know of is what i have in my car now..

300v Chrono

10w35

$40 per 2L bottle.

Full ester synthese

Its the oil Nismo etc use in the JGTC races im pretty sure. Has all writing on the back about N1 races etc

Hmm.. interesting..

will there be a major difference between a 5w40 and a 10w35

or will it be un noticable?

5w is a little thinner than 10w

nissan specified is 7.5w

so 5w or 10w will be fine

i found mobil 1 to give erratic oil pressures. i'll never touch that crap again. I'm using Conoco, tho im not sure who retails it.

Conoco is ok,

Personally ide never use mobil/shell etc in my skyline, for a number of reasons, i figure the oil is like the engines blood.. U want the best you can buy.

I'd be going for some motul 10w40 turbolight. Thats what I have been using for the past 12months and have had no worries. Go the 10w due to the engine getting on with age.

I have heard ALL GOOD with motul CHRONO from everybody who has used it

Yeah in the end i grabbed myself some Motuel oil .. i think it was the 10w version ..

i just cant be bother to go doubble check.

seems to be running fine now.

I think Motul 8100 X-cess is not ester based...

But other 8100 class Motul oil are ester based :wassup: ....

Over here most of them can be bought at autobarn so im guessing any large auto parts retailer will have them.
