I'm mad as hell.

Took well over an hour to get to work this morning.

Had to double back from just past woden turnoff to tuggers and come in via Woden to the city.

I hate to be callous but it had better have been good ones (many multiple fatality's).

Not just drivers too stupid to get there damaged cars off the road and gawkers. FFS

Yeah as I said. Im angry as. Shoot me !

Anyone know really WTF happend ?

It's canberran incompetent road (90%) of users that would have caused the issue... But built up with the roadworks on parks way would not have helped. Nearly better to go Adelaide ave to get to the city

I'm with you on this Richard - as much as I don't want people to get hurt, for the way other drivers react it had better be worth it lol. I've seen a guy pulled over on the side of the road on the Monaro one time just south of Fyshwick. He was doing the right thing by getting ENTIRELY off the road so he could answer a phone call. There was nothing wrong with his car, he wouldn't have even caused a disturbance while he pulled over....yet somehow we have 2 lanes of near-standstill traffic for well over 500m behind him, which miraculously vanish and return to the speed limit the moment you passed the dude...

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???? f**king incompetent rubber-necking dickheads, that's why!

How much brain damage can you take before you become as brain dead as the average ACT driver?

Lobotomy time. I swear ive seen them drooling as they stare straight ahead clenching the wheel.

They need automatic driving cars or something.

Good point lol....I had a stroke when I was 17 and as a result have permanent brain damage leaving me with an irreparable blind spot in my vision....and I still manage to do better than 99% of the zombies on our roads lol. That's saying something!

My boss was directly behind the second guy that was hit.

First one (closer to hindmarsh) was just dumb arses in the right hand lane.

The second one was a scooter rider vs car. My boss was directly behind the bike/scooter overtaking in the right hand lane. In the left lane, there was a bank of car stuck behind one of those slow moving diggers. As the scooter guy was overtaking, the lady in the left hand lane abruptly changed lane into the bike and pushed him into the concrete barrier. Some how the car didn't notice straight away and kept driving for a little bit, mean while the scooter guy is bouncing around between his bike and the barrier.

By the time I went past, he was on the ground not looking well.

Ahh one of my biggest gripes WHY THE f**k do those diggers drive in peak hour traffic?!?! At about 20km/h!!!!

I used to see it all the time on the Monaro Hwy in the morning... utter chaos!!!

Yet having atmos BOVs or a boost controller is a safety hazzard. The government is just sitting there going Trololololololololololol hahahaha.....

Scooter, moped, pushbikes + children - stay off the roads...

or

Get licensed, registered and travel the speed of the traffic (+10kmph)

Edit: Oh and drivers be motorcycle aware

Read - NO SYMPATHY

A few more of these might reduce the increasing numbers of "above" smaktards !

Seems one was an 8 car pile up.

The other one (as has been said) was a car and a bike. Male on the bike had minor injuries. Good to hear :)

Canberra drivers have traffic jams for the fun of it, what happened to the scooter dosent surprise me, Iv been riding daily for the last 3 years and u would not believe what I have seen, there's nothing more dangerous than a Canberra public servant running 5mins late on a Monday morning

    • Update: I got the magnet out. I bought 3 different flexible magnetic reach tools, but none of them worked. The magnet on the tip was all less than 2lbs of force, so i had to buy a special cylindrical magnet that had a pull force of 9lbs.  The magnet finally came in the mail yesterday, so i got under the car to get to work. The super strong magnet isn't that long, so i only have about 1 finger pinch lengths to hold it. I was so scared when i was going in the hole, that the 9lb magnet would just fly away inside the oil pan never to be seen again, but i had my butt cheeks clenched and finger gripped on that thing so tight, i managed to get it to suck the other magnet out.  It was a victory for me last night.
    • Yep, pretty much what you said is a good summary. The aftermarket thing just attached to the rim, then has two lines out to valve stems, one to inner wheel, one to outer wheel. Some of the systems even start to air up as you head towards highway speed. IE, you're in the logging tracks, then as speeds increase it knows you're on tarmac and airs up so the driver doesn't even have to remember. I bet the ones that need driver intervention to air up end up seeing a lot more tyre wear from "forest pressures" in use on the highway!
    • Yes, but you need to do these type certifications for tuning parts. That is the absurd part here. Meaning tuning parts are very costly (generally speaking) as well as the technical test documentation for say a turbo swap with more power. It just makes modifying everything crazy expensive and complicated. That bracket has been lost in translation many years ago I assume, it was not there.
    • Hahaha, yeah.... not what you'd call a tamper-proof design.... but yes, with the truck setup, the lines are always connected, but typically they sit just inside the plane of the rear metal mudguards, so if you clear the guards you clear the lines as well. Not rogue 4WD tracks with tree branches and bushes everywhere, ready to hook-up an air hose. You can do it externally like a mod, but dedicated setups air-pressurize the undriven hubs, and on driven axles you can do the same thing, or pressurize the axles (lots of designs out there for this idea)... https://www.trtaustralia.com.au/traction-air-cti-system/  for example.... ..the trouble I've got here... wrt the bimmer ad... is the last bit...they don't want to show it spinning, do they.... give all the illusion that things are moving...but no...and what the hell tyre profile is that?...25??? ...far kernel, rims would be dead inside 10klms on most roads around here.... 😃
    • You're just describing how type certification works. Personally I would be shocked to discover that catalytic converter is not in the stock mounting position. Is there a bracket on the transfer case holding the catalytic converter and front pipe together? If so, it should be in stock position.
