I have found a job opportunity in the US and after some daydreaming I found this for sale:

Now I can't afford to spend $100k on an R35, but I could definitely spend $60k!

How difficult would it be for me to arrange finance for a car when working OS?

I was in USA at the end of 2012, All cars are cheap as crap over there. And R35's are fairly common, I saw roughly 5 or so a day just in the week i was in Anaheim, So there should be a few of them for sale around that price. And if your converting your aussie dollar they are a steal. Surely your regular bank would still be able to provide finance.

Depending on what your plans are if you intend to do a few track days while over in the US the R35 would be a very good option but if its just for street driving and having fun I would look at a few locally built cars like the Viper or Corvette. You can buy 2010-2012 Dodge viper Str-10 for around the 70k.

And there are many other options with other high end US cars for around this price. And the resale would be easier to move a Viper over a GTR I think.

Also what's the job opportunity in the US that would make you do the big move for a few years?

Project management gig.

Wouldn't mind a ZR1 but looks a little out of my price range. Vipers intrigue me but I don't think I'd want to own one. Definitely want to take it to track days.

Any other US cars worth checking out?

I would be looking at cars that have had big dollars spent on them - maybe a newer generation Camaro or Dodge. A second hand Hennessy or other tuning shop built car would certainly be worth looking at (with 1000hp cars available). By the way are there any other jobs going there that you know of?

You can pick up a 2010 ZR1 for around the 70-80k mark, other cars worth a look would be a some of the top of line Mustangs like the 2011-2013 Shelby GT500, a Factory Five GTM could find a 2009-2010 car for around 80k. Another car that is road registrable in the US is the Ariel Atom you can buy a brand new 2013 cars for around 65k, not really an every day car but you could have a cheap daily car then :)

Factory Five GTM is awesome :woot:

Bit hesitant to buy a kit car though. Ariel Atom would be amazing, but only if there's a track very close by to where I live.

R35 is still winning due to practicality.

Finance companies wouldn't be hesitant to lend to me? Would it possible to do like a one or two year lease?
