Hype and others: pricing for the cat back systems will be determined shortly.

All I can say right now is Hi Tech deserve some big ass thanks! Pete at the Lewisham shop worked tirelessly from 7:30am yesterday morning through till 8pm trialling and making up a selection of systems with differing rear mufflers (he put all other work basically on hold), all using a large resonator to keep em quiet (ish). The dump pipe should come up quite nicely.

Long and short they have put in many many hours to develop these parts of us all.....very impressive stuff.

The slight angle muffler with 5 inch tip looks cool.. had one on my car to test....

unfortunately no photos as yet.... they are all off to the factory on monday and you will all know as soon as the first batch arrives....

Cheers

Nick

Hype : I strongly advise a resonator unless you have some points left on your license that you dont mind loosing :uh-huh:

The car will still sound good... but not as loud as most..

I am happy to be organising this.... its a time consuming thing but its great to see it working out. Without the patience of those on the forum who want these parts and the dedication of Hi tech in development it wouldnt go ahead.

I just want the system on my car.... after all... its very shiny!:P

hmm... good point BY BY..

i think id better get a resinator too..

but will it restrict the exhaust system at all??

and will it still sound good?

any ideas on how much extra the resinator will be? (im assuming its not included in the 700$ turbo to cat system..

you guys know that if you turbo upgrade then you new dump pipe generally wont fit on a hgher hp turbo cause they come with dumps to match the original engine pipe.

just a thought

anyways i have 350-400hp garret turbo with custom dump anh nizmo engine pipe (stainless) all yours for 800 bucks exchange(selling car dont need it), f*k ill even give ya the $400 7 litre cat if you want to pay for the removal, turbo and cat have beeen on for 7 mmonths

first in best dressed(sold to a nice home)externally venting BOV owners need not apply lol

syndey only please

I've got a cat back Super drager and had another straight thru muffler fitted to it near the rear diff. b/c i found it a bit loud. Now it's perfect and I wanted to get the front/dump and cat done but I don't wanna make it louder, what sort of effect will it have???

I already have a 3" stainless steel cat back exhaust on my r33, I am just wondering how much louder it will make the exhaust note with the new dump/front pipe and hi-flow cat.

Should I consider getting a resonator fitted? My exhaust is really quiet at the moment, not loud at all. So does a wider pipe from turbo back make it louder ?

Any help would be appreciated as I am seriously considering getting this exhaust group buy thing done..

Ta,

Darky.

Hey Guys,

I have another quick question

Im wanting a extremely loud exhuast for my skyline i was wondering if you could tell me which one would be best for me. Im sure you know the note that im after, not ricey but its just the sound you here when the boost comes in and you just know its a skyline.

3" mandrell bent with a 5" Tip, how would that sond ? And also when ppl say that does these include a sports exhaust.

If you would happen to know a site that would answer all these sorts of newbie questions i would be greatly appreicated.

Bucket: any good 3 inch exhaust with decent muffler and NO resonator will give you a damn loud and sexy note.

Depends what you want.

If you are in sydney loud isnt a good idea

    • You are perhaps suggesting that it is not a super car? Well....it's not an AU.
    • Dropped the MX5 of this morning to get the hardtop colour matched and some PDR done, they are also going to give it a buff to remove some "stubborn" swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat Over the last few months the poor little thing has copped some shopping centre car park abuse, I try to not park in them, but hitting Westfield's a few times over the last few months has taken its toll, nothing really bad, but enough of a trigger for a "while we're in there" thingie  Once it's back and all the one colour, with a few dents and mark's removed I'll give some of these products a go and see what they're like
    • A locally delivered Infiniti have remote start installed but don't come with the remote start key. You need a new remote start key and they just need it programed. And this is different to making/programing a new key that just starts the car.
    • Cheers, and cheers for sharing so much of the build and also sharing the glimpse of what turns out to bring a lot of us poor decision makers together haha.  I do recommend learning more about how to manage it, if not considering getting a  formal diagnosis.  The discussion with the psychiatrist I got my diagnosis through was quite eye opening, things I'd not even considered to be ADHD related and hadn't mentioned were things she asked about out of the blue and were common themes with people with my flavour of ADHD.   It's not a label for people who are hyperactive and ill-attentive, there's more to it than that and some of it can be much more challenging or damaging - though there are of course two sides to the thing, and a lot of the stuff we have to go through and work on to live with it make us effectively "better" at other things as well. Aside from the fact that there is some argument I could have a bit of ASD seasoning in there (came up during the diagnosis, and neurodiverse things seem to not stay as a cookie cut) I suspect you need to learn more about ADHD if you are puzzled about how hyperfocus could possibly apply.  I *do* personally use "superpower" with quotes deliberately, but it's 100% an ADHD thing due to the exact reason that lack of focus is also an ADHD thing... Loosely speaking the inattentive side of ADHD isn't the inability to focus, it's the inability to control where the focus goes.  Not being able to sleep because brain is more interested in thinking about a stupid thing I said to a girl I liked 30 years ago, not being able to focus on work because my brain is more keen on putting together the torque management strategy we're going to try out with a drag car next weekend, not being able to focus on a conversation with someone I WANT to listen to and respect because there is a flickering light in my peripheral vision.    If I could just stop work and build the torque management setup right there and then I'd not hear anything else until it was done.
