Hey guys,

Planning an R33 gts-t build atm and am looking for some efficient bov solutions.

Alot of people praise the stock GTR twin BoVs for their performance.

I was wondering whether people run just a single GTR bov or use the twins on other engines (more so rb25dets).

Also, I was wondering if anyone had a sound clip of them. I searched all over youtube but the only videos I got are off gtr's running loud aftermarket bov's. People say they sound good and subtle, so has anyone got some audio. Perhaps a generous GTR owner could take a sound clip?

Any info would be great

Cheers

I dont mind the quieter bovs out there, but some are stupidly loud. GTR stock twins from what people say sound good but yeah if you or anyone can get some audio that would be mad.

On the other note, if anyone has ran them on an RB25DET did you run both or just one? I am planning on a basic stock internal rb25det / gt3076r / usual supporting mods to get to around 300rwkw.

Just keep in mind that aftermarket plenum wont pass a mechanical inspection, mine didn't and they are a nightmare to change over

And all aftermarket bovs do is attract attantion and get defected and better yet u save cash!

Hah. Plenum change to "neaten" then engine bay. The definition of a worthwhile modification.

It does make for less intercooler piping and instead of running piping across the rocker cover

But still expensive to do just for street car. I was reading that the r34 neo plenum was the reason it gave that motor much more bottom end torque over 33 rb25, so if he got one of them from a wrecker would be cheaper.

I also read that cheap plenums of ebay can cause the motor to seize, so just be careful

Amy more info on the causing motors to seize? :)

Hi guys,

Rather than start a thread on the same topic, I have searched and this is close as I found, i too have an RB25DET and a pair of GTR BOV's which are yet to be installed. I was hoping someone could post a pic of how they were mounted using a forward facing inlet manifold and plumbed back in to the intake pipe. The reason I bought them and want to use them is that the current bov works well when venting to atmo but doesnt seem to work when plumbed back. I just get a lot of flutter back through the turbo. The pipe that the current bov is mounted on will be eliminated, non standard pipe anyway, when the inlet manifold is installed.

Thanks in advance.

Liam

Well, given that the BOVs are installed in the intercooler cold pipe just in front of the driver's side front wheel....that should pretty much tell you where it makes sense to install them on a GTST with a FFP.

I don't know if I would use both though. If you install both, you then have to joint their outlets back up in order to take just one hose over to the inlet side, or you end up having to take 2 hoses over to the inlet side. There's plenty of high power RB25s running just one of these.
