Hi Boys. Tending to a steep learning curve. Just bought my dream Sylvia and the turbo's shat itself. In looking for a replacement can anyone tell me the diff between the 2871 and 2871R. Fitted is the 2871. Is the R an option?????

Same thing . Garrett don't make a plain bearing version from memory . R means rolling elements - ball bearings .

Yeah Thanks. You are absolutely correctI got onto the local turbo pros and was told as much.

The sad thing about the whole issue is that some dummies have been following advice posted and restricted the oil flow resulting in disaster after about 11k. Why would someone bother to fit a fn massive intercooler and the starve the turbo? Beware.

Ray Hall in Cairns here told me about the discopotato is it awesome? Does it come with mirrorball?
