Hanaldo
What ECU are you planning on using now that you've sold the ViPEC? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425148-r34-builddiary/page/3/#findComment-6973891 Share on other sites
B-rice
Never saw this build thread! Loved the read and those rims look shmick! Good luck with the tune Can't wait to see the figure it puts out wont be any crazy number im setting up all the supporting mods before changing the stock turbo. Was thinking of getting a Hi flow for the meantime, but its doesn't make sense just getting it installed only for a few months. But if i see a really cheap one, wont hesitate to grab it. What ECU are you planning on using now that you've sold the ViPEC? I had two,got one from a wrecked 33 with a Neo. Then i won another on ebay, so i sold one. Both were so cheap and in good condition. I did send them off to Link so that they could do a diagnostics test to make sure they were not chucking a fit and they were good. B-rice
Received a few goodies for my my fuel system and got to work straight away. Making the fuel lines was not as challenging as i thought it would be with all the fraying wires. Manged just to use a grider with a cut off wheel to make clean cuts. Also where you see the 180 bend, thats where ill b placing my fuel cooler once it arrives. Hopefully soon and the bend will be reused for the new fuel rail and injectors. I need to find better ways of linking the stock hard lines to the teflon without using a clamp. Im currently using the Quick Connect 3/8" to 6AN. They not leaking or anything but they dont seem like a good fit for prolonged use. They're a snug fit on the flex fuel sensor but for some reason dont feel as snug on the hard fuel line coming from FPR. B-rice
Got to put the Nismo pump in it buzzes like a dremmel now kind of annoying but Ill have to get used to that. I might try fitting some rubber or some noise deadening of some sort.Size comparison of the stockie compared to the nismo how do people deal with it specially in traffic Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425148-r34-builddiary/page/3/#findComment-6977868 Share on other sites
Hanaldo
Nismo pumps are quiet in comparison! Haha. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425148-r34-builddiary/page/3/#findComment-6978320 Share on other sites

34GeeTeeTee
thats crazy i get im going to get some subs to cater for the noise blocking . Fully sick subwoofa!!! The external 044s are right behind the back seat and i find them quite nice, on cruise only one is running and over 3psi both are running! Thought it only works with MAFs not MAPs but ill try to find out more about doing that. Mine was setup by Adam @ JEM through the Haltech, it is the ideal setup for anything up to 700rwkw 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425148-r34-builddiary/page/3/#findComment-6979011 Share on other sites
B-rice
Ive been trying to find out if anyone has tapped an external MAP sensor on the intake manifold for RB25. Where would be the perfect spot for this,(preferably the part of the manifold where it has less material to drill through for tapping.)? So far im inclined towards this type where i have to take off the intake manifold and tap it. Not use if i could tap it whilst its still on with all the metal shavings falling inside. Another is to tee off another line easier method. Im thinking this method would have a less accurate reading. Hanaldo
I would tap a hole mate. If you're planning on running the car solely on the MAP sensor (not using a dual MAP/AFM setup) then you want that sensor to be reliable. If you tee it into another hose and for whatever reason, that hose splits... That's gonna mess up your readings but your ECU won't know any different. B-rice
Thought it would be better tapping it. Its just a pain to remove the plenum, but I guess it will be also a good chance for me to fit the new injectors aswell. Hanaldo
You would only need to remove the plenum, not the runners. That bit is actually quite easy. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425148-r34-builddiary/page/3/#findComment-6989340 Share on other sites
B-rice
going to give it a shot when im free. My tuner was offering to do it for a price. And i thought to myself that if you pay someone else to do it for you its pretty much their car they know it and you dont. Need to get a few speedflow fittings and spacers then I should do the tapping and fitting new injectors. First of all, the stock hard lines are 5/16. So the 3/8 to -6 quick connect fittings wouldn't work anyway. Then those quick connect fittings are designed for GM EFI systems. They work with the flex fuel sensor because they are a GM part, but you don't want to use them for your hard lines. To convert your hard lines, you will want to cut the barb off and then use Speedflows 5/16 to -6 tube adapters with the compression olive: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/425148-r34-builddiary/page/3/#findComment-6989385 Share on other sites
B-rice
I pulled out my vernier because it didnt make much sense to me. But then again ill be losing the hardlines when I change the rail to the plazmaman. Manuel Kasko
Bryce, make sure you have some ratchet spanners when you tackle the intake. I did mine a while ago and cut the fark out of my hands, it would have been much easier with ratchet spanners. Hanaldo
Ah dude, you don't know pain until you've tried to change your oil filter with a Plazmaman plenum.
