Rb20Det Automatic Transmission Replacement

hey guys, I've recently come into possession of an s13 with the rb conversion and the auto box has pooped it, first off I've no idea why its auto but it is, so I'm going to press on with keeping it auto as the misses will probably want to drive it as well.

could anyone here advise me on seeking a replacement box? I've heard the rb25det any would fit, if so what would need to be changed to make it work?

I have no problem putting another 20 box back in and would probably prefer that as it would just be a straight out and in job and being a mechanic the last thing I want to do is work on my own stuff

so any advice from you guys in the know would be much appreciated.

I did have a go at the search but there are way to many irrelevant results

meant to add if that id be tempted by the 25 box as its stronger and easier sourced

and if anyone here in south east qld has a 20 box they'd like to sell please let me know

so no difference in tail shafts

I'm not 100% certain as I've never done a swap, try phoning MV Automatics, they have the best reputation in the country for nissan trannies I'm sure they can advise you.
