Its been a while since ive posted. While the car was sitting at home i painted all the turbo piping, fuel rail, fuel reg and external gate to try make it look a little more stealthy incase i ever got asked to pop the bonnet. it looks almost stock now.

I finally got a clutch put in. While it was there i decided to do the timing belt, water pump, crank seals, cam seals etc and solid mount the rear subframe. I really missed driving the car but of course with my luck atm i took it out the next day to a friends and the thermostat was stuck shut causing overheating. I got that taken out and thought my problems were behind me. I was sooooo wrong. I took it out the next day for a drive to wollongong and on the way down i lifted the head :( :( I limped it back to the mechanics and thats were its sitting atm till i can afford to get the head gasket and studs put in. Im so upset with everything. All i want is the car back on the road but at this rate everything is going against me. Its pretty frustrating!!

Horrible luck. The wheels are 18x9.5 + 20 offset. They sit outside the guard a little. It looks nice without too much playing with the guards

Cheer up...you have had a fair bit of "very bad" luck (to put it politely) but I guess it only gets better from here !!

Wat size and offset are your new wheels?

How much boost were you running? Stock turbo? Would take some serious punishment to be 'lifting the head', although a blow gasket I can definitely see.

I was running 20 pound with a garrett 3082. I saw the gasket. There was a small indent in it. However he called me after stripping the engine and sure enough. With my luck all 6 pistons were cracked somehow. He has never seen it before. He thinks its possibly a bad batch of e85. I guess its a rebuild for me. Im kinda over it a little. I just want to have fun with the car already.

Well after living off crumbs i have got the bottom end rebuilt thanks to Zan at SMD workshop. Really helped me out. Only put GTR pistons in it with new rings and bearings etc. When i went in i saw all 6 were cracked and sure enough there was a hole in one of them too. I really missed driving it and having fun with it. Ill be taking it to the drag strip very soon and hitting up some wet pans to really have some fun with it.

Thats all for now i think. Ill keep updates coming on whats planned

Well im back again for another update. Car run great on 291kw but i got a bit bored of it so when i went back for an eflex sensor i decided to push it. Sure enough the rear main crank seal (i think thats what its called) decided to give up on me and i lost compression aswell. Wasnt too suprised or upset so ive decided to go all out and build a 3L bottom end and a couple of new goodies to get it cracking realllllllllly good :) I was kinda of inspired by nytsky's build :)

Yeah im hoping she will be a unassuming monster when its done, Since the car has been sitting around i got all my interior finished off by Silvio at Strictly Auto Trim. 0405553109. He done a great job and at an amazing price. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to retrim anything. Ill get pics up soon of it once i send him the steering wheel to finish off.

All goes well im hoping to have all the stuff back at SMD this week to get started on it.

Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of posting. There hasnt been much going on because it started off as just a built 3L bottom end but now since things are taking there time it has turned HUGE. Basically its all getting built to take big big power. Ill update with specs and all that after its all put together around the christmas mark but it will be ready for powercruise next year. In the mean time i decided to sell my ute and buy myself a Stagea as a work car plus it gives me a little bit of skyline to have fun with whilst the 33 is sitting off the road.

More to come soon

    • Ok guys thank you very much. GCG highflow it is then 馃檪
    • forgot to mention that when it does this it does not kill the engine, but I have not kept the pedal down long enough to let it, as I see no reason to beat up on it as its got to be something simple, small and dumb causing this.  And as soon as I let off pedal, the engine returns to its normal super smooth operation and rpms re-stabilize quickly, once below 4k.
    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
