Hi i recently replaced a clutch on my 89 32 gtr and when testing found the car doesn't make any boost, can hear air coming out from bov area when attempting to boost, have checked all main piping for clamp tension and damage but all appears ok.

Car still runs and drives great under 0 psi.

the car still has the original twin turbos on it and i know there is a steel pipe from the wastegates to the inlet which travels around the back of the head but i cant find anything wrong with it. Would anyone know what may be wrong or some tests i can do to rule a few things out.

Thanks in advance

Matty

sorry i should have mentioned it has the steel wheel upgrade in the turbos and it seems to be trying to make boost it just escapes, i'm hoping that if i keep pushing it whatever has failed will break properly so i can find it easier haha.

I'm hoping it is some cooler piping that has fallen off somewhere but i havent found anything loose yet. do you guys know of any reason the bov would open early? its unlikely to be faulty bov as only started happening after gearbox reinstalled.

Thanks

Bovs open under boost if the vac/boost line has come off (no pressure against the back of the bov to help hold it closed) I've seen this happen before, the line from under the plenum to the bovs had a split (although there was still some boost due to the bov spring). Possibly damaged this line when tilting the engine back to do box on/off. Get a smoke or pressure test done. If you're passing through Brissy anytime let me know, I can check it for you if need be.
