Hey guys,

The cylinder head on my 26/30 is currently quite loud, so I will need to buy new shims for it.

The cams are GREX 272 cams, can't find too much info on them. When checking the clearances with a feeler gauge, can I just go off the factory rb26 clearances? Or will I need to know the Greddy specific clearances?

Cheers for any help.

Clearances can be hard to find. I had a contact in JP have a look for me and he came up with the specs (Apexi in this case) pretty quickly. Might be worth a try if you know anyone over there - importers for example. My cams are quite large and the specs are pretty much identical to factory, whereas Jun specify much tighter numbers for cams with similar lift/duration.

In most cases you can run with the std clearances and it should not pose any problems. We have been using kelford's and all the cams we have had from them, varying sorts over the years, all stated about 0.010" on inlet and 0.012" on exhaust.

I guess all you can do is see what you actually have first and go from there.

Is the rest of the valve train standard Nissan? Its only the cams that are aftermarket?
