Lol nothing random about that.... Lucky your car is a nice stealth colour

Under the yellow street lights, my car looks white too :P

Charles it's because you're a dodgy Asian lol

We the same, you're just a little darker haha

Here are some of my stats: full license, intact.

Honda Euro-owned 3 years-0 random checks.

Skyline 33-owned 1 yr- 9 "random" checks.

S15-owned 3 months- 4 "random" checks with 2 EPA

mr2 turbo-owned 5 monts- 1 random check

Yamaha r1 motorbike-5 "random" checks.

So basically, if its import, sports car, you will be picked on. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

Not true! Haha. Here's my stats.

P Plates acquired in 2010 September. Cars owned along with 'checks';

Toyota Supra 7MGTE - 0 Checks.

Mitsubishi Lancer GSR 93' 1.8L Turbo - 0 Checks.

Toyota Mark 2 Jzx100 - 0 Checks.

Nissan Silvia S15 Sr20DET - 2 Pull overs, Busted for driving a turbo on P's and no P Plates the second time. Currently on 1 point challenge to date.

R32 Skyline Gts-t - 0 Checks so far :D.

S15 wasn't coincidence. It's focused hard by police :(.

Yesterday the skyline got bretho'd 3 times...

In Bendigo, they were doing everyone going into town in the morning... 10am
In Echuca, they were doing everyone going out of town just after lunch... 12pm
In Heathcote, they were pulling cars into a 4 car lineup in a service lane... Pulled in 4 cars, waved others through, pulled me in even though the lane was full so we had to wait... Once the other 4 cars moved on, I moved up to #1 and they pulled 3 more in behind me.

I've got zero problems with this... in Heathcote they had a HWP guy standing there typing rego's into a laptop (presumably checking for unrego, unlicenced or persons of interest linked to the car)

Good on them for checking for drink drivers so strongly on long weekend... On the other end of the stick, the gf overtook a truck at 149km/h (max on the PFC) because she wasn't used to acceleration... I lold.

On the other end of the stick, the gf overtook a truck at 149km/h (max on the PFC) because she wasn't used to acceleration... I lold.

I did that on the way home from buller... drove the whole way under the limit.. overtook 1 car and BAM... busted...

luckily the guy was a nice country copper and once we chatted about our mutual dislike for HWP he dropped it down to 119 for me.

Funny, since I've stopped driving my R33, I no longer get the Big Bopper (Coppers) seeing a white skyline & following me through traffic for a couple of km's before pulling me over.

Only twice have I been pulled over now in 3 yrs of Commondore driving:

1) 2010 - No Plates by HWP (when I bought it - had a temp.reg sticker - Legit pull-over reason I'll admit)

2) 2013 - Tail-Lamp out by motorbike cop in the Cardinia/Dandy roaming taskforce.

In the Skyline I once had HWP see me going the other way (@99km/h) on country highway - pull a big U-Turn & overtake 2-3 cars to pull me over - just for being in a Skyline. Anybody who says imports aren't targeted just for being imports is either incapable of rational thought or a D!(kh3ad.

p.s. an ex-country cop I knew at work said: "All the a$$#oles get put in the Highway Patrol car, because none of the other cops can stand being stuck with them for a shift."

I kid you not.

topic has gone somewhat off topic as of late.

did a search and found this

"Melbourne has drastically changed - hoons, graffitti, violence - they are all related and need to be looked at urgently."

^

as car enthusiasts are considered as hoons it doesn't paint a good picture

Don't see how those three things are related...

Writers usually use public transport or walk and aren't terribly violent people...

Hoons aren't out to try and hurt people...

The only thing they have in common is the word scapegoat.

My step-uncle works for Whitehorse Council, an area that I used to live in...

They got a heap of complaints from people living on Morack Road because of people doing 60 in a 50 zone... Wide Wide road... So they put in some speed humps along the road... 12(!!!) of them to be precise.

Speed complaints have stopped. Now they get the same people calling up to complain that they don't like the noise of cars going over them and then accelerating after they go over them.

Some people just love to complain... these people also vote, so when it comes up to election time, they make it look like they've done stuff for them.

    • Nope, but they are definitely one of the default choices. Well established.

    • Haha actually I did join back then under a different email address,  I couldn't re-activate my account so made a new one! I didn't post much anyway so not missing out on much. Amazing to see how the value of the cars and parts has changed over the years, also ACT section appears to be dead now.
    • Thanks... It's in pretty good condition overall, probably due to not being drifted/tuned however being a daily driver has taken its toll. Had 100k on the clock when I got it, up to 180k now. Unfortunately it's not 100% dent free, it's got a small dent on FLH side and broken indicator from where I hit a small kangaroo at high speed. If you look at closely at pic #5 you might spot the dodgy trailer light repair my old man and I rigged up as temporary repair! - It's still there due to a combo of needing the car as daily driver and then too lazy/busy to fix properly. I've a couple of other minor accidents accidents as well but nothing major. One required a new front bar and unfortunately the smash repairer ordered the normal gtst one and not the aero bar. Needed the car back asap so just went with it, regretted ever since.
    • I can't believe that anyone is foolish enough to believe that the base maps are for any other purpose than to drive the car up onto the trailer/truck or gently creep it to the dyno. No matter how good they are, they can never be any better than the factory maps**, and only the foolish trust those on a significantly modified setup. **Yeah, yeah. I know there's also the difference between factory maps being fixed to certain injector sizes and MAP/AFM/VE relationships, and the likely aftermarket ECU base maps being better able to handle the sorts of changes that would render a stock ECU dangerous, like different sized injectors. But let's just ignore that for the moment, because the principle is still the same.
