I had cam gears too, forgot to mention on the mod list.

Was planning on injectors, pump, Nismo AFM's and EBC to milk out as much power as I dared, that never happened (binned the car @ DECA few months later).

Feck, I miss that car.

Ahh well that explains the mid range difference!

350rwkw should be quite achievable on these setups with E85.

Seen -9's go 350rwkw on 98 with a built engine. The one in NSW, Nick I think his name is? Would be interesting to see his on E85!

Buy another one :P

Yeah, would like to buy another one even though I've bought 3x GTR's after this one...

Know of 350rwkw -9s set up, yeah Nick aka Levinboy. I'm sure you've seen a E85 result of 370rwkw - forgot the blokes name.

That would be usmair, his mph didn't back up the power figure though but apparently he was having some problems.

Haven't heard anything about him going back to the drags or jumping on another dyno to confirm power figure.

Another e85 result that surprises me is Nathan's which is also on Trent's dyno. 379rwkw, -7 and e85.

Even my mate Grech's result is 36xrwkw, -7, e85 on Racepace's dyno.

Would be interesting to see more e85 results with these small turbo setups to get some comparisons

Hey Micheal,

Any GTR with -9's pushing 350rwkw is already plenty. Once you start to go over that those turbs tend to run out of efficiency.

I would be happy with just 350rwkw with lots of of response rather than more poahwa and more lag.

having said that I cant really talk. Cause I have opted for -5

I heard my name wassssup haha

Like ants said I'm getting to the end of the efficiency range of the -9s

Next year maybe will go full flex setup but quite happy with the way the car is on 98

As the car is my daily ;)

Anth, my thoughts exactly. If it makes more then great, but 350kw peak power would be plenty enough.

If I can get say 220kw by 4000rpm, and 300kw by 5000rpm, that would be ideal.

Are you going to use e85 Anth?

Can't wait to see the results of yours being tuned!

Haha! SAU famous!

Yeah, flex fuel would be best if it were a daily. I'm just lucky to still be driving my old bomb so can justify going on E85.

And that way I never have to sacrifice the power :P

Hey mate, nice build! Car looks lovely :)

Just completed the fuel pump rewire a couple of days ago

How's this wiring setup held out so far? Any leaks through the connector or did you seal it up with epoxy or something similar?

There's no opportunity for leaks as the wiring you see in the 2nd pic connects to two terminals on the lid and there's another plug underneath. Some people change to the thicker cable

all the way down to the fuel pump but I've not heard of any issues with people using this method and I haven't had any thus far.

Hi mate,

Yes, I will be going E85 but not for run-in tune. We will go E85 after that for full poahwa tune ;)

Have a look at my build thread - some dyno footage is already is up.

So, been a while since last update.

Car has seen some changes.

Xspurt 1000cc injectors, Nismo AFMs, PFC, advanced the intake cam, E85 and some more boost.

20140814_205034_zpsnpdr7gds.jpg

As a result, 363kw peak power and 597Nm peak torque.

Blue line = 21psi on E85

Pink line = 18psi on E85

Red & Green line = 18psi on 98

Very happy with the gains particularly at 4000rpm.

One thing though, water pump bearing gave way on the last run due to me getting a little bit too excited on the alternator belt tension when removing timing cover.

Water pump is on the way, so hopefully will have the whale back in action next week.

Sensational results Mike

Great to see updates

Also glad to see you are willing to use the car on track

Cheers Anth, glad to see you jumping on the E85 wagon too! You'll be joining the 400kw club I guess!

don't fancy the idea of high oil temps though. Use Edge 10w60 but still gets pretty warm on the factory gauge (around halfway - not so sure what that is, but I guess 120?) when going through the hills

So, was speaking to my mate with a 33 gtr as well and his words were that the line just before 150 thats not marked with a temperature is approx 120deg on the factory gauge.

Could someone confirm this? Because I've been thinking halfway is around 120 this whole time and backing off.
