I have seen a nice clean 1990 model.. I do plan on tacking the car to the track and pushing it a bit. Couldn't I get a stronger oil pump or is there a solution to the problem without replacing the crank ?

If its a nice car in good condition at a good price just buy it. I never had a problem with my early model 32s oil pump. Yes the later version is a bit better (the nose of the crank has larger flat surfaces to drive the pump) but it is by no mean a reason not to buy a good car and there are plenty of other things to worry about more.

Anyway you will one day want to rebuild the motor and the cranks are actually pretty cheap. Fix it then if you must.
