Sau Vic 2013 Motorsport Championship Round 5 - Pi Sunday June 16

due to the ethanol content, it varies so amount of fuel that needs to be delivered varies as well,

could be a little rich could be a little lean, either way not so good.

I got mine tuned on BP 98 and that only fuel that goes into it.

why spend so much on a motor to cheap out on the fuel?

Not a cheaper option

As I mentioned. Trent from Chequered tuning said its a better option to run United 100 when he tuned my car on 98

Anyone got an idea of what class I should be entering in?

Basically stock 32 GTR but it's not registered.

if your talking about filling in the PIARC form, as it's not registered but registerable you be put you in modified class H but if you're not in the championship does it really matter?

As long as you're grouped on the track with similar paced cars, so you're not loosing time each lap while overtaking or being overtaken on every straight...

Seem to remember that they mentioned a 2ic was going to be processing entries and they don't have a club email - probably why no confirmation has been returned.

Wouldn't worry, I'm going to head down, if they've messed up their records I'll mention my prior entry and request any on the day payment will be for the lower amount.

I was billed earlier this week but I didn't receive any confirmation. If you paid in time I'm sure it'd be fine to just head down there.

It's annoying that there is no one to contact though.

Yup I just checked and got billed too. As far as I'm concerned, I'm in :P

Looks like I'm a withdrawl

Replaced rear rotors and pads and when winding in the caliper piston the 20yr old seal gave up the ghost and brake fluid started weeping out from the side of the piston. Seems Silvia rear seal kits are hard to come by at reasonable prices.

Bah, don't need rear brakes. JK

BTW the small rattle in the EVO that developed at the Sandown round in May that caused me to miss this round turned out to be a cracked piston.

So now I've got a whole new engine as the bore was scored a bit to much to be fixed for a track engine.

Ha, the engine is worth as much as the rest of the car now!

Also the next WRX PI is looking for 125 cars to enter, and the cost is up to $250.

Did the island increase the hire cost lately or am I not concentrating as per usual and haven't noticed till now. Gotta stop breaking things so I can get in more track days :-(

thats quite a lot... and 125 cars is a lot of groups too.

Makes the John Bowe phillip island days a lot more attractive. Less than double the price for around double the track time + food and instruction (just no timing)

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
