It's pretty much the same as low mounting a GT3582R - everything is pretty much the same as a GT3076R but the compressor housing is larger .70a/r T04S housing instead of .60a/r T04E one - slightly larger outlet

So it will definitely need the intake pipe, spacer plate and probably 2.5 inch intercooler piping and almost certainly another custom dump? And oil and water lines maybe? Is $1200 a decent price for all those? That doesn't include installation obviously

Pretty steep.

I'd want to be paying 200 for lines, 200 for an intake and not more than 500 for the dump and spacer plate. I would also expect these prices to accommodate install whilst on the job.

Those are very 'rounded' numbers, too.

An intake pipe on a skyline with a pod is very simple to make, and unless you want breathers and stuff added then you don't even need to have one made. A simple 90 degree bend with a pod on the end of it can be had. You can also source your line kit from Kando dynamic on eBay for less than I quoted.

Where are you located?

I'm trying to avoid pods as much as possible. I'm trying to keep the standard air box. I'm going for a stealthy as possible look. I've even hacked up the heat shield over the exhaust to make room for the custom 3' dump so if possible I'd like to keep air box heat shield etc. obviously of this is impossible I can do without.

I'm in Sydney; specifically bankstown. Know any good places that can do things like intake pipes etc. ATM I go to pulse racing at Menai for anything I can't do myself and they have been pretty good so far

Not sure if people think it's OT but that T04S compressor housing is a bulky cow of a think and I still have to wonder if it makes that much difference over a T04E one . If you look through the range of FP HTA GT30/35 based turbos most / all have that T04S housing and it makes them look BIG . Correct me if I'm wrong but from 71 to 86mm HTA compressors must have significantly different air flow rates yet all use a modified S housing . Garrett doesn't seem to have problems using the more compact E housing with it's 2" outlet and they seem to get good power out of it . Perhaps the Ford XR6 GT3582R version is good to look at considering it has an even smaller A/R (0.50 vs 0.60) version of the T04E compressor housing and it copes sort of OK for a 4 litre engine .

Lith you may think I'm splitting hairs but I've read quite a few threads where people build up their Skylines and end up going to an aftermarket exhaust manifold and hang something off it with a biggish comp housing ie 3582R or similar outline thing . The applicable plumbing in/out is huge and quite obvious compared to OE RB25DET , they get pulled over for a lid lift and it's game over - take it back to standard inc emissions test . The average Joe is never going to take it back to standard and another Skyline bites the dust .

Lith we both know a 3076R doesn't look standard either but I reckon it looks a bit less lethal and is a bit easier to fit - purely because of it's compressor housing .

People like me want to keep the standard exhaust manifold and air box and we run the return flow intercoolers with 2 inch pipes to keep things looking mostly standard .

Obviously FP aren't stupid and they use these HTA wheels in Mitsy or similar housings on Evo turbos - direct fit ones in Evo 9s .

The last thing I want is a bulky turbo because it's so obvious , I am interested in 71 and 76 HTAs but not with that compressor housing . It's the only thing that lets them down IMO .

When you make out like the T04S monsters the T04E compressor housing, I can't help but think of this turbo line up - features a Garrett GT40R, GT37R, GT35R, GT30R and a Borg Warner S200SX and S300SX to put everything into perspective:

lol the T04S is only a tiny bit larger than the T04E, the outlet size is the biggest change.

Exactly..disco is tripping ballsacks, ive measured them up, theres fark all in it, T04S housings looked big in the 90's..lol

An hour (if that) and some ACL heatshield..and you'll never see see a 3540 comp cover on a standard manifold at all, no matter how hard you look....im pretty sure i posted a photo, just for you in another thread.

its not hard....and you can fit your return flow no worries aswell

Silly me - updated the wrong thread, I was meant to post this here :wacko:

A Supra owner in the US has upgraded from their old Borg Warner S467 T4 turbo to a T3 flanged FP Super99HTZ and picked up 15% more power with a huge increase in spool - they run a Powerglide and usually use a transbrake however they are testing for an event this weekend where the class they will be in doesn't allow transbrakes, so they did testing using a foot brake starting at low boost to see how much they could hold back with the foot brake and have already laid down a 8.97 @ 151mph... I suspect when they get to a meet they can use the transbrake and wind up the boost a few eyebrows will be raised - not that running 8s on a T3 based turbo with a Supra isn't pretty unreal as it is!

Dyno numbers will be a bit messed up due to the loose Powerglide - but a Supra running 8s at >150mph is going to be making north of 900hp to start with, it isn't running NOS and it did it off the foot brake with more boost in it.... so safe to say that it's already a pretty stout result :)

Still a bit dark about travelling >2000km to Australia to meet some of your clowns and after spending weeks helping deciding on a turbo I never got to hear cam noise or see this thing in the flesh :P

Here's a clip of that Supra with the Super99 HTZ doing an 8.95 @ 152mph off the foot brake with a Powerglide (no trans brake use allowed in the street class it was racing in).

It has since done an 8.75 using the transbrake at an event the following weekend - trap speeds aren't much higher, but it is out of gear in the top end so needs a higher final drive to knock the trap speeds up now. Probably worth mentioning the car races on radials too, apparently.

I remember being told a Supra would never go sub 9s with a T3 turbo - I guess they may have been right, this Supra pretty much skipped the 9s and went straight into the 8s ;)

In regards to anyone running the FP HTA 3076 on the standard manifold, what kind of wastegate setup would prove to be the hot option? Wastegate pipe welded onto standard manifold or welding a wastegate setup directly onto the turbine housing. Very curious.
