That is a handful! 1:29 is very quick!!

Why camera are you using? Was it playing up?

Using the rad cam hd for the outside view, and the new go pro for the inside view. I'm not sure why the vids were out of sync as its never happened before with the rad cam hd as its always brilliant. The only thing I can think of is that I recently put in high speed memory cars in both cameras. Anyone else have this problem?

Late night work going on to have it ready for Friday winton practice, inlet temp is to high to quick so additional front bar whole cut out to help bring it down with a water spray kit also being installed. Front diff oil cooler pump fitted, and tie rod ends almost finished. Couldn't finish off the power steering, I ran around all morning organising the merc pump prior to work couple days ago in a rush to have it ready for the guys to hook up and sort. Just as I rocked up I went to place it on the bench and it slipped out of my hands and smashed the reservoir... Oops, so still waiting for delivery of a new reservoir to try and get it all working properly.

Hey danh thanks for the offer, guys are working on it now and hopefully the new one I picked up works. The sway bar I bought ages ago which was off my gtr33 track car I had bought years ago so not sure who made it sorry as it was already on. Had the guys transfer it over. Ill try and find out for you though.

So the boys added a intercooler spray system to try and get the inlet temp down. Motec controlled to kick in after full throttle for 1 sec and then off for 2 sec. Car has been now set up with motec throttle position so that will help a lot. Car is now getting aligned again with the additional weight and ikeya roll centre. Total weight now is 1278kg, not as light as initially thought as lots of little things have been added which add up. Tie rod ends are in, thanks for the info danh, ran out of time to order so dean made his own.

Picked up a new memory card so hoping the sound and video quality are back in sync for tomorrow's second shakedown at winton. So much to test again with little time till the event but its been great fun, can't wait to sleep again.

Awesome day today at winton, we rocked up late so we could sleep in after a late night working on the car, so only had a few sessions. Power steering sorted this time which was great so dean could concentrate on driving. Had the first couple sessions on the hard compound tyres, boys played around with the suspension set up and sorted the handling out which is now driving like it should. Had a fuel reg issue for the day which didn't let us get consistent laps in. Guys changed the fuel filter which was slightly blocked and it still had the issue next session out so straight back in again. Guys checked the petrol tank and found the fuel lift pump in pieces and plastic broken bits on the bottom. Cleaned it out, put it back together, had enough time for one more session so the hankook soft tyres were put on, with boost set middish way. The car produced some great results which we were happy with as its a positive step forward for us. Dean reckons there's an easy 1-2 seconds in it with some more laps. Massive day and massive thanks to dean, brett, paul and andrew for all the hard work all day everyday to make this happen.

Ill post the vids soon.

It's a pwr intercooler, 81mm thick I think, not sure on length but was a custom make for our power application.

They are great cores but do you believe it is suitable for the power you are producing?

Most run cores of 100mm at your power levels.

I was advised from dean that we need a bigger cooler at some stage but there won't be enough time to refabricate the cooler piping and costs involved. Trying other alternatives for now and if it doesn't work, after wtac it will be changed.

Cheers Chris, appreciate the support. Come say hi at wtac. Bout to meet the team at phillip island, weather looks good for a change.

Good luck for testing! The thing looks and sounds like an animal in the clip from yesterday, love it - should be intense with the power wound up to 11!

The NZ non-GTR owners also coming over don't count? :(

    • I believe Unimog is the only vehicle that has it (from the manufacturer). I haven't seen aftermarket permanently connected kits, but I haven't looked either.
    • Ha ha ha, can't overthink when exhausted... Oh how I wish I had that power! I can be absolutely dead set shot, and my brain will still go "we need a good 3 or 4 hours to just think about everything and anything before you may sleep... My biggest thing is making sure I give myself enough sleep. I don't operate on even 7 hours of sleep! I attempt to give my body 9.5hours sleep a night to be able to function. I don't sleep the whole 9.5, but I need to make sure I offer a big window. I also take a single supplement, which is to help with long term health, and fighting inflammation, and I notice it helps massively. Especially me sleeping, and just less "achey" in the body. Have also kicked sugar, and gluten. A majority of people with ADHD don't go well with gluten. It causes a really interesting natural opioid overdose in the brain, which causes bodily issues and sensory issues.
    • Yeah that's what I meant, permanently connected not manual
    • Yep. But typically that's just run a hose down to the tyre while stationary.   Oh and the Unimog will automatically air up and air down tyres from the onboard computer for you too.
    • There was a good video somewhere, maybe Kurzgesagt that linked physical activity to ADHD/Anxiety/Insomnia etc. Basically the body WILL spend energy doing something if you don't spend it doing anything physical. It isn't fun, but I personally have noticed I've never been overthinky, or unable to sleep if I'm physically exhausted from doing a lot. The musings around it seem to indicate that this is one of the reasons/mechanism that physical activity improves mental health/wellbeing etc, by more or less not using that 'extra' energy to overthink, be anxious, inflammation, etc. There's also the fact that every obnoxious exerciser ever says it's great and helps which is extremely annoying. Like people who say the same thing about travel being the best thing ever. I mean, they clearly are, but blah. I started doing a LITTLE myself (think 3x15min per week) and honestly did notice the benefits, aiming at life quality when older. Which is sooner than you think. Getting something into your routine that you can actually make a routine has helped me at least. This post brought to you by procrastination between sets.
