A man has died in hospital following a single-vehicle crash at Prestons over the weekend.

About 5am, Sunday 2 June 2013, a 21-year-old man was driving a Nissan Skyline east along the Camden Valley Way when he lost control.

The Nissan mounted the median strip and spun before hitting the gutter and crashing into a power pole.

The man, a provisional P1 driver from Prestons, was trapped inside his car with serious head and abdominal injuries.

He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital where he died last night (Monday 3 June 2013).

Police from Liverpool Local Area Command are continuing their investigations into the cause of the crash and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.

Anyone with information about this incident should call Liverpool Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Rest In Peace - I hope it was no one from here. :(

This is a very sad bit of news indeed.

Please keep speculations to a minimum. The police and Current Affair do look on this site when news items of this nature occur. I would hate for speculative views to be reported as facts in the news with affiliation to SAU.

Thanks for your support and condolences to the family and friends.

Very sad, condolences to family and friends. Agree with Eric on no speculating - don't feed the journalists!

Age and experience has taught me that things can go pear shaped on the road VERY quickly no matter what you drive. Have had it happen to me, have seen it happen right in front of me and the laws of physics cannot be cheated. Always drive with a margin of safety on the road.

Current Affair do look on this site when news items...

Sorry - don't want to take away from the seriousness of the matter but it has to be said that ACA and News don't belong in the same sentence.

And also i don't really see the point in mentioning that he was driving a Nissan Skyline, and by doing so it takes away the real focus of the whole story and portray a negative image on the Skyline/GTR community. Like the car that he was driving really mattered in the fact that he crashed.

A young man died while behind the wheel and we should all take this as an example that once we get into the drivers seat (of any car) we have a responsibility not only to ourselves but to our family, friends and community to drive in a safe and responsible way.

Condolences to the family and friends of the young guy that lost his life.

young man died while being careless/reckless behind the wheel and we should all take this as a warning that once we get into the drivers seat we have a responsibility not only to ourselves but to our family, friends and community to drive in a safe and responsible way.

FYP. You have no way of knowing how the incident occurred and that is EXACTLY the speculation that is the core issue. That is exactly why the Police and News put the type of car whenever it is a high performance vehicle. To get you to speculate and the public to view them as a danger.

We cannot force you to follow our requests, but by not doing so you risk further damage for the entire car enthusiast community.

We all wish well for the family and friends in this time of grief and express our sorry for the poor person that lost their life. This is the core message that needs to be the focus here.

Apologies - bad choice of words.

Filling gaps with assumptions where no information is provided.

Maybe re-editing will convey my points more clearly.

Or maybe I should just stop posting about this altogether.
