Thought I would write a quick n dirty review and information of the RacePace radiator.

Reasons for this thread:

  • Little information on this radiator for R34 GTRs
  • Chris has never fitted one to a plastic topped radiator GTR before, only alloy top
  • Little information on the radiator itself on the forum

Information on the radiator:

  • Aluminium
  • 42mm and 55mm
  • Triple pass N shaped pattern (info from Chris)
  • Direct fitment regarding mounting positions, hoses, etc
  • Fan shroud will require trimming! Also may need adjustment as to ensure no fouling when turning, bumps on the road, etc.
  • Cost: 42mm = $550, 55mm = $570

Admittedly this cannot be a full review as the radiator has not been in the car for a while so I may update this in due time, but other people have mentioned no issues regarding quality.

Temperatures have been very good so far and I'll be looking forward to seeing how it fares in peak hour traffic on a hot summers day with air con to give it a good hammering. Highway driving seen very stable temps, sitting on a solid 82C most of the time. Getting up to operating temperature does take a long time as well.

Verdict so far: Recommended - same price as a Koyo rad, thinner (Koyos are 53mm iirc) and triple pass :)

I have nothing but good things to say about this style radiator and also the service i got from Chris @ Racepace....

I run the GTT version which i believe is the same as 33GTR and since fitting it the temps have been stable and slightly lower than the past.

I know mine would struggle after prolonged punishment but now it is nice and stable!

They look like any cheap eBay spec radiator to be honest BUT after discussing it with another SAU member who also ran one, the choice was made!

Overall i am pretty impressed with it!

Ive got one in my nur and have done 2 track days with it in and at sandown it takes about 2 hard laps to get it upto 100 degrees. Around the strret its a consistant 82. And with the plastic shroud radiator i originally had you can make the original shroud fit easily.
