hi guys iv searched the forums here and around the net and couldn't find anything to help me so hoping someone here can

I have a 1993 r33 gts25t. its stock under the hood besides a fmic, nismo fpr (coz stock one died n couldn't get another one), hks bov and a pod filter

I don't drive it to often so started it in the shed n let it idle to put some charge in the battery. it was running fine then the idle started to fluctuate slightly then it stalled I tried to start it n it turns over but wont fire up.

I have limited mechanical knowledge so I checked all the basic things its got spark its getting fuel all the fuses and relays are fine.

so following info I found on the net of things that could be the problem iv replaced cas, afm and ignitor and still no luck.

any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks Heaps

fuel I pulled off the return line n injectors clicked when I rotate the cas and the plugs where wet when I pulled them out and spark I removed the coil packs and plugs one at a time n placed the plug in the coil pack and earthed it to a battery with a jumper cable and had a mate turn the key.

I just read on here that one guy found even though the plugs fired out of the engine they where still to weak to start the car so ill try replacing the plugs tomorrow.

I had a problem like this before an it was the power supply to the coils, It red fine with a volt meter but had no current, to check this get a headlight globe pref. 100w , find the power wire on the coils-remove all the plugs off the coils to confirm the power supply wire see if it glows the bulb bright like a headlight-if not you have found your problem area. Is it the model with the ignitor at rear of engine or do the coils have inbuilt ignitor.I think 93 has the ignitor.

yes it has the ignitor at the rear of the motor atop the coil pack cover

I checked the power supply to the coil packs like u said an it is fine the bulb was blinding lol

this first happened a few months ago but haven't had the time to work on it till now I thought I was getting fuel then but after closer inspection to day it looks like there's fuel in the feed and return line but its not making it to the cylinder coz the plugs are bone dry now after cranking for 5 seconds

discovered iv got no power to the injectors checked all the wires and earths and is all good so and everything else appears fine fuel pressure, spark, injectors them selves. So im thinking its a problem with the ecu.

is this a likely possibility???

if the plugs are wet then the injectors sounds like theyre working.

did u only jist install the fpr? sounds like the pressure is too high and u have fouled the spark plugs.

get some new spark plugs and set the fuel pressure to 43.5psi when the pump primes. then see if it starts

hey plugs where wet when It first happened but are bone dry now

I put new plugs in and the fuel pressure is set at 43.5psi

I spoke to the mechanic at the local Nissan dealership said it sounds like the ecu but when I asked if I could ring it in there he said they not interested in working on it :-(

so I got another ecu do I just unplug the old one n plug in the new one or is there other steps to replacing it ???

If I here ecu one more time I'm gonna burst into laughter, I have seen r33 ecu,s cooking when my mate reversed the polarity to his battery for 2 minutes. There was smoke coming out the engine bay then he swapped it over and it fired right up please accept out information, it is your battery or ignitor unless a magpie got stuck in your alternator and the battery didnt charge properly.

    • Welcome Jan, It's very likely that you are in over your head. You'll just have to learn to swim hard and fast! These old rust buckets have more ways to bankrupt us than almost any other car. But hopefully there's nothing wrong that ruins the whole show! We can help a fair bit. There's plenty here who've been fixing these things for >25 years. cheers
    • Hi all. First off, thanks for reading my post. So end of last season I put the car away knowing I was leaking at least two fluids. One of them being rear turbo's oil. I went to my car recently that is waiting in a garage to take a peek with my boroscope to try and see if I can narrow down the souce of oil before taking it out of storage. What I found is not so great I think. The rear turbo is (probably) leaking from the oil drain. The hose and it's clamps are probably the original ones, so most likely just worn out or loose. However I spotted a line of rust going straight down from the turbo oil feed, as if water leaked out of there at some point. Also explains the red liquid that was dripping from my front subframe, which I initially thought was power steering. I can even see coolant drops hanging off the side of the oil pan as well. After a quick hit on the web I found a select few discussions about porous engine blocks. My question is if the pics of the turbo oil feed and the left hand side of the block (imgur link below) looks like it could be exactly that to you. Maybe someone in the community has seen it before and knows what it looks like. If it actually is a porously leaking block, has anyone attempted at fixing it with simple methods like putting a sealer in the cooling system and using something like jb weld on the block surface, or will it just leak in 2 weeks again? I could not find any detailed info or pictures on this topic. If I need a new engine, tell me softly. https://imgur.com/a/knVvmZ8
    • Hey all. I'm 23 and from Germany, September last year I bought a mildly modded 1995 GTR Vspec. Looks great and was fun so far, but I already have a list of issues of various severity that I need to take care of, potentially growing longer the closer I look. I just hope I'm not in over my head, I really want to keep the car and work towards it becoming great. I hope y'all will help me out in getting there, I am positive I will need help sooner rather than later to figure out how to proceed. greetings, some pics of the car I posted to imgur. https://imgur.com/a/StKkabz
    • Would be interesting what the price would be without the barracuda wheels. Looks like he dropped it down to 40k. Maybe his mate wasn't correct about the 50k evaluation. Has always been a dream of mine to own an auto 33. Looks like I'll have to keep saving my pocket money or ask mum for more pocket money.
    • Thinking about importing a stagea as a family car since i’m getting married this year, thoughts? Me and my fiance both like stageas, but don’t have any experience with them
