Hi there,

I bought my V36 370GT SP model a couple of months back, when I was still living in Melbourne.

As a result of job transfer, I have now been moved to Shepparton, and so this vehicle is not as practical as the 4WD I am importing instead.

So sadly she is on the market already.

This is the top of the line SP model - all the fun (and vital) S model stuff - big brakes, big wheels, etc etc - if you're interested you'll know your stuff already. Also all the P model refinements - some of the in-cabin stuff is pretty fancy compared to the JZA80 and R32/33/34 I have been used to.

It looks awesome up close - a real head turner.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RAYS WHEELS AND TYRES, AND THE AFTERMARKET SUSPENSION WILL NOT BE INCLUDED AT THIS PRICE. I ALREADY HAVE A CONFIRMED OFFER ON THESE.

So car will be sold stock as a rock. (unless you want to pay me more than $2750 for this stuff).

Had RWC inspection already - just failed two items - spacers for wheels and the car sits too low. That's all. And as I will return to stock, it will be completely RWC by this time.

It is the black with black leather interior - cannot tell if the rear glass is tinted or not?

She has 55xxx klms on the clock.

This is a Grade 4.5 - will show both auction papers and de-reg papers to interested parties who turn up in person. No, I wont post them up on the net for all and sundry, just interested parties. So if you are interstate, I'll send to you once you've shown you're serious - such as paying for a vehicle inspection.

Inspections more than welcome.

Thanks for offering (in advance, lol) but I don't need or want a trade. Like I said, I have a Navara on the water at the moment, and my missus has a BMW, so we have no spare garage space.

I won't be negotiating on price (not yet anyway) - because;

* well - if you cant find a better and cheaper one - but that one!

* as the yen is now 88.xx (and still heading south), meaning you'll get 87 yen for the dollar at best, plus fees, by my calculations it would cost every bit of my asking price to import one from Japan.

So anyone who hasn't bought one from Japan already, may not really be too interested in doing so in the near future,. because the local ones should be cheaper.

Please PM any questions, unless they are of relevance or importance to anyone else.

Cheers,

Foibles

PS - car can be shown up in SHepp, or in Melb CBD, or in Ringwood (East suburbs) at various times.

  • 2 weeks later...

bump - presume there are very few buyers in the auto 370GT or 370Z space at the moment, at least in Vic......unless everyone now hates black.

car now has RWC, and will be getting registered next week. price will go up to reflect this cost once it occurs.

  • 2 months later...

bump - price now $34990 including 12 months rego, and the Rays wheels (offer fell through as swap set were crap).

You probably couldn't get a 4.5A 370SP with mods like these at this price even if you imported from japan - which would take you about 10 weeks and involve a lot more risk.

A lot of car for the money!

So hang on, you had it advertised for $29,990 without the wheels/sus (and mentioned that you were getting $2,750 for them) - so now after 3 months on the market and zero bites, you are increasing the price to $34,990???

yes, it may sound silly (it probably does) - but;

1. presumably as a seller it is my prerogative

2. as mentioned in the ad, I did have a guy interested in the wheels. he was offering to swap his stock wheels with me, but when i saw them, they had awful gutter rash (I suspect one of them may have been damaged), and were completely unusable from my perspective

3. as mentioned in the ad, the car has since been registered. the on roads cost me around $2K.

4. In trying to sell, I am aware I dont just have to make sure mine is competitive against other cars locally, but also those who might want to import themselves. As it is now far more expensive (Yen at 86, I bought mine at 104), I figure I would rather sit back, enjoy my car, and wait till I get the price I want.

Appreciate it is a little unconventional, but hope my reasons seem sensible enough. Let me know if I am breaching policy, and I will amend accordingly.

Will get photos with rego (and better photos!) this week.

I still think these are cracking cars for the money!

No worries - no of course it's not against SAU policy - you can ask whatever the heck you want. I just thought it was a typo tbh. I was kinda hoping you were getting more eager to sell (average time to sell these things is around a year+ from what I have seen on Carsales etc), and meant to DROP the price to $25k :P - then I would buy it.

  • 3 months later...

bump - not giving in to nightcrawlers $25K offer, but am certainly negotiable.

I can't even remember what I was asking for it...$28990? Now includes rego...and hardly ever gets driven.

Havent seen a cheaper 370 GT SP model for sale anywhere in Aus......am I missing something here?

Sadly, as I pointed out, average sell time on one of these bad boys is about 12 months. Trust me, I have been doing the import thing for a long time.

And to put modern cars into perspective, I bought my black premium V35 with similar km to yours for $32k 4 years ago. I have since spent about $12k improving it, and in all honesty it is worth about $15k-$20k tops today. Harsh but true. Time is not your friend.

More pics (like of interior) may help. Is it paddle-shift? Does it have BOSE/Navi?

    • I remember the days when E85 was priced in according to the $ per km outcome. Sure E85 was about 35% cheaper, but you also lost about 35% range... now it's fked..
    • They do. The pale yellow translucent ones from Japan were .... I dunno. Useless? Whiteline and SuperPro are probably fairly similar. There's bound to be a range of different hardnesses amongst the dozens of options on the market. The simple fact is that the pineapples don't get up inside the bush at all. They just sort of exist in the space between the washer/bracket and the subframe's bush outer tube, and...exert a bit of force between them? Or something like that. I'm sure that with enough provocation, they will simply allow one to move wrt the other.
    • I'm not sure they came in different hardnesses? Going from memory only - I had set them up in the balanced setup. I also have poly bushes, so I have both poly bushes and pineapples. This is what my memory tells me at least. I'll have to take a look under there to be sure. The tramp was so bad that I managed to eject/kill a diff bushing, so those I know are stock. The tramp is bad enough that you are 200% sure you are doing severe damage to the car. It's not just chirping or vibration, it feels like you're hitting a speed hump/kerb 10 times a second. The issue has persisted between subframes! (I went from Hicas to non hicas subframe and replaced every bush a few years ago now) so I'm entirely lost. Every arm is factory.
    • Can recommend the Frenchys kit, been using it 2 years now with no issue, very happy with it.  Only thing for me was upgrading the thermo fan but I am super fussy on cooling.   Also interested in electric AC, partly for boot mount to have a clean bay and partly would love the idea of cooling off the car before i get in. The battery setup to do that might be tricky / expensive though.  Found this an interesting watch.
    • I put Whiteline pineapples in my old 33, they came in a 6 pack of them, got rid of the axle tramp altogether, cheap, quick and easy install,  they were pretty solid units though...???high durometer???? and NVH was increased a fair bit How hard are the ones you installed?
