Unfortunately you can buy mobile network signal blockers online cheaply, so the thieves don't even have to be particularly sophisticated.

They're heaps good, but apparently really sophisticated thieves carry jammers with them that disable the GPS trackers, i've read it somewhere in these forums, and it makes sense. Doesn't hurt to have one hidden somewhere though

hey guys, a mate on mine found my car parked in Broadway shopping center on tuesday of last week, by complete coincidence.
i had a few people contact me that had seen this post and a few posts on facebook pages, they had witnessed an armed robbery that my car was used for.

i went to the carpark where my car was and called the cops, they towed it to an impound lot and investigated it, i then got it back last thursday.

it has some damage to the body and one wheel, but nothing to major, and mechanically it seems to be fine.

after talking to police i found out it had been used in several armed robberys around the city and was likely just dumped in the carpark.

i must be the luckyest guy out to ever even see this car again.
thanks for your concern and help, and it shows that putting it up all over the internet helped, i think social media did more in this case than police ever could have.

R32 GTR as a get away car?

They cant be that smart, the coppers will be chucking a u-turn every time they see it not because its stolen or has been used to knock off the servo but because its a Skyline.

Should of pinched a SS or something, lots of plates to steal and its common lol

Good to see you got it back though, a rarity these days

at the end of the day if they want it they will get it. but it didnt help that i had no alarm at all.

they would have thrashed it for sure, its a stolen gtr! but i am a mechanic and have sussed it out a fair bit, and seems to be running as normal, to tell you the truth i dont want to know the compressions, there isnt much you can do about it anyway, and my wallet isnt ready for a full rebuild at this stage.

Wow - very lucky. Glad to hear you got it back though.

I would also +1 - get it compression, leakdown tested and driven by some knowledgeable mechanics. Would be better to outlay a few $100s in tests to know the health of your car and how it's been mistreated.
