It's all systems go.

I dropped in to see him today while in Ringwood looking at bikes and he's still ready for my car so by Friday arvo it'll be fitted with a towbar!

If you haven't already, get in and book a time to get yours done.

And it's done.

I haven't had the chance to crawl under the car yet, but from what I can see it's a fantastic job. Extremely neat and well tucked up under the bar. I'll try and get some pics tomorrow.

The jig is made so he can bang these out on demand. $550 fully fitted but sans tow ball, so you'll need to add that on top. That represents a savings of $220 over a one off.

Not the ball. I have a feeling he just forgot mine and for $13 from Repco I'm not exactly going to cry over it. Everything else, removable tongue, square plug etc included.

Give Des a call - (03) 9879 3545 - and ask. You'll need to find someone to fit it, if you're not able to. I can't see that costing much. There's maybe a couple hours in fitting.

Getting mine done next month hopefully when time permits.

Just spoke to Des, call a week or two beforehand to book and it'll take about 2-3 hours on the day.

Can't wait!

I've had mine since this thread was forgotten about, pretty much. Hasn't fallen off yet !

I've moved house twice, towing my Karting box trailer chock-a-block full of whatever would fit. Hasn't missed a beat.

Best of all - the tailgate clears the tow-hitch handle by about 70mm, so you can always get into the boot.

Good times guys, good times.

Good to hear. That makes three that I know of who bought one from Des, which I think is the point which made it worth while to actually make the jig.

Any of you guys towed a car with Des's towbar yet? Am yet to try it out.

Not a car, just a 6x4 with some camping gear thus far and a 6x4 with about 700kgs of sand in it. Did it easy.

I won't be towing a car any time soon but I am looking at buying a 8x5 dual axle tipper which should carry a couple of tonnes, so that'll give the Stag a workout.

Can any people who had one installed describe what modification is done to the car in order to fit the bar? I am in Canberra and would be interested in one, though I might have to get it locally fitted, or DIY if possible.

My photos further up show it all. A couple of holes drilled and a small square cut out of the rear bar. There's really not much to it.
