For the asking price you could pick up a realy nice r34 Gtr. At least that way it will actually be a Gtr.

He won't be selling it any time soon for that price.

Doesn't matter what's done to it, it's still just a gts4

It's an old workshop car which likely means that all parts and labour are cost price and whatever spent is a tax writeoff so nowhere near the cost of your joe blo building it. The fact that its been for sale for longer than I can remember tells you all you need to know about what the market thinks of its value.

As far as "buying a monster and saving 20k" we'll that depends what you mean by a monster. So I'll leave that be cause I can't even remember if its even cut a quick lap before?

It's a dated looking purple gts4 with a parts catalog thrown at it, that's not selling. Maybe he should part it out ??

Another couple of years and you'll get early model 35r's for that kinda money.

Personally as a streetable car I'd prefer a clean stock (minor mods) GTR with some nice jap wheels on it. In the forsale section right now fatz is selling a built long motor for 13k. Add another 3 to 5k for decent shock and spring package.

Stock bodykit + respray in a standard colour + lowered price and itll sell. If I had 40k ide buy it for 40k with a stock bodykit and a standard non-homosexual colour. Couldnt care less if its a GTS4 or not, its a mental car. But its just so expensive and a bit ugly itll never sell at that price.

I see that my car has been put up on this forum, thats fine i dont mind. If it never sells i dont care it can sit under its cover until my kids get it, they keep letting me know thay still love it.

I also see there are a few knockers thats fine i dont mind :action-smiley-069: . I hope that one day if you ever have the money to do a full build on a skyline to the level this car was built to you would then know the true cost, but i guess that dreams are free .

I know what i have, and anyone that looks at a car like this will have done there research and know what it is or what its not. :google: if not i would let them know.

Easy i would just give them one of the many magazines that have featured this car with all the info anyone would want. or they could watch the many DVDs , movies, ytube etc, i think that this car was around when many of you were still at School, so i under stand your lack of Skyline knowledge in the real world.

You dont see me around the Skyline forum much these days sorry to say to many young P platers with no idea and no money but great with the keyboard.

I will run the add for a while and probably pull it as has happened twice before, there are just to many tyre kickers out there already wasting my time.

This is a great fourm and i have many great memories of the early days of Skylines down under as i was one of the oringals.

Thanks to all the old guys that still remember the old days.

I like this bit in the add.

DO NOT WASTE MY TIME if you have no money dont bother me i am old and grumpy.

I agree with some of the comments about colour and styling. the kit and colour are not my cup of tea.

I don't doubt its a hot car. but its a bit must pitching it as a GTR when its not.

Well aren't you a condescending fellow.

If you "know what you have" then why do you advertise it as a BCNR33 GTR when it is infact a GTS4 lol? :)

We must have a massive "lack of skyline knowledge in the real world" as for some reason alot of us cannot understand why you have falsely advertised it. Must be something only the older blokes know.

All us young p platers with "no idea" must sound pretty silly I guess to a man of your honesty, fairness and experience.

On behalf of us all, sorry for "wasting your time".

No doubt that it is a fantastic car with all the mods and R&D put into it over the years. No one can seriously doubt that. The awards, results and benefits to Advan over the years are proof of this. However, what has rubbed people the wrong way is the fact that it has not been mentioned in any ad that this car is a converted GTS4 to GTR.

If anyone thinks that this is not such a big deal then they aren't thinking hard enough about it. The fact that the car hasn't sold after such a long time reflects the market's take on it.

I'd be pretty pissed off if I had gone to the trouble of arranging an inspection with another mechanic of this "GTR" only to end up finding out that it is in fact a GTS4 with GTR guards. Who is the one "wasting peoples time"?

    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
    • My Fuga Hybrid is JDM, 2014 model but very similar to the V37 from the looks of things..same platform just physically larger and very comfortab;e
    • Was that Australia Delivered Duncan? Does it have siren etc?   I used to have remote start on an old 32 two decades ago, it was a cool feature. I used to wake up early in winter for work. Start it and by the time i was out the door a few minutes later the engine was warmed up and the heaters had the car toasty. It was great.    I don’t mine the ambience lighting.  I drive a western star and it has footwell lights and ambient lighting and it’s great! From the pics of seen of them installed in a skyline I think it’s a nice touch
    • re the security system, my Fuga/Q70 has the factory option where the puddle lights in the mirrors turn on when the prox key is detected, it was clearly dealer fitted and has a switch in the lower dash to disable it....it didn't have remote start but TBH I don't really miss that, I had it in the Stagea originally but never used it....we don't often have to warm the car up in the snow before we get in for Australia. And the Fuga also has the illuminated footwells, sounds like a useless feature but I actually quite like the indirect light within the car, it was a nice addition
