Mate, two suggestions,   1. Go for a Track Day at a track through your local SAU and wind out the R35    2. Man up and Drive your GTR carefully..  I just sold my HSV R8 E2 to buy the GTR.

Another one that got bored of the one dimensional v8 taxi. Best life decision you've made.

My excess is $600 :) My wife who is 31 is also on the policy as a driver

wow, the insurance company is takin a massive gamble on that on a 120k car, I suspect a few GTR's may go missing if people go bad on there loans 2

That's exactly how I see it and I don't feel I need to lie about it what point does that make. Unfortunately I wasn't raised up with a silver spoon and was taught if I wanted something to work hard for it which I am/have no offence to anyone else at all I just know a lot of people see my car jaw dropped and then see me hop out of it and say I bet mummy and daddy bought that for him. A cop pulled me over once and asked if I got it as a 21st present I replied with "I wish they would be the best parents in the world" lol

Congrats for going after what you want but I can't help that think the hit you will be taking in interest and depreciation over the life of the loan will be more than enough to start you off with a decent investment whether it's property or another asset that would work for you. I'm all for enjoying your youth and I've wasted money on cars that I havent gotten back but nowhere near the amount we're talking about here.

On topic: I've never driven an r35 but I can certainly relate to the guy saying going back to a slower (but still quick) and cheaper car can be a lot of fun. You dont have to worry about taking it out as much and can still have a bit of fun when you want to. Not caring too much about a car can be a good feeling and a big relief if like most of us you're always careful about where you park, where you take it, if someone damages it, etc...

Ill have it paid off in just under 5years and I pay 7% interest.

To be honest I think after that time it should still be worth a minimum of $80k just look at the gtr r34 the value of them and look how old they are.

I also have a deposit for a house and thinking about getting an investment property as well but with the car loan I don't think I will go too well but who's knows.

Also I've sat in my mates cammed up ve ss high 12s commodores and there's no way that I find them more fun then my GTR just the power delivery and handling around corners is excellent

whatever makes you feel superior

Try going for a drive in one that has the tyres and suspension to match the power, you will probably be surprised.

Not about being superior. It what I see everyday. It's the norm. Funniest thing happened a couple of weeks ago. I guy in a vl was minding his own business and then stopped at the light and this idiot in an ss came flying to a stop revving his engine. Then he took off like a mad man while the vl was cruising. The ss kept slowing down and speeding up and this went on for about 500m. All of a sudden flames shot out of the vl and he was crossed up for at least 100m pulling away from the ss. Needless to say the ss slowed right down. I drove passed him and just shook my head as if to tell him how much is a d?!khead he is.

Mines insured for $135k and its $1200 a year full comprehensive with Just Cars and only in my name and I'm 23 I was expecting around $5k and no one ever believes me when i tell them how cheap my insurance is

WTF?! I'm paying over $1,700 for my 2012 BMW M3!

being a tool is a mentality, not a model of car, seen enough flogs in all brands to know this, I've even seen this behavior from an R35 driver!

you just see a lot more SS's on the roads. Incidentally I can't say I've seen anywhere near the amount of douchey driving from HSV owners.

even tho my hsv is ten years old and tuned, i have no need for such douchebaggery. sure ill put my foot down. at 3am when the road is empty. in traffic? i see no point.

I ain't complaining haha I actually think its a joke mysef lol

And as for seeing idiot r35 drivers to be honest there's not much on the street which would be worth toying around. I also always have people drive like idiots around me or ss's rev me up and try race me I pretty much just take a quick look and laugh.

No offence to anyone but I just hate to see a grown man cry :P

i think the ss or the monaros r a better street car 4 the fact they make so much instant torque minus turbo lag. U can pick up Monaro cv8's for so cheap now and its 2 door. Also in the next 5 or 10 years its gona be a real collectors car again like the old HT monaros, and instead of the value going down, there only gona go up

Here we go torquing the torque again. Give me a laggy setup and I will show you how to drive it so its not laggy. Changing gears is the best solution. Any high powered setups is best to be used on the track not on the street low torque or not. Laggy setups are better daily drivers anyway.
