anyone with a positive displacement supercharger would beg to differ on that one (or cam setup for max torque) :woot:

Yeah those are the fu?!wits that are pathetic street draggers. Put them on the strip and they get destroyed by a laggy gtr. Put them on the track and they will last for 1 lap before their brakes go off, and go home in shame while stock gtr s are destroying them. Why? because their cars are useless.

LOL if you truly think that the people who go around spending 12k+ on a PD blower are the same who go racing on the street, you could not be more wrong.

I put a max torque cam in mine because it spends 99% of its time between 1500rpm and 5500. Same with a blower. Usable power. Not to say an R35 is laggy, can't comment.

They're far from useless cars, just in stock form they are nothing on a GT-R on a racetrack, and only a wanker would try to draw a comparison. If you want to go down that route, you have to compare to the ZR1 Corvette (incidentally the ZR1 is a faster car than the R35 lol), or ZL1 Camaro (which the VF GTS has the same drivetrain as) which are actually positioned as R35 level cars rather than Commodores. Also note that both are using PD superchargers ;)

It's also why I keep saying that the real alternative to an R35 is only the VF GTS due to it having the advanced drivetrain and brakes over the lesser models.

Here we go torquing the torque again. Laggy setups are better daily drivers anyway.

surely that's trolling? I'm talking instant torque when u press the accelerator from a rolling start on the STREET in whatever gear, your not gona dump the clutch @8000rpm in ya laggy GTR are you. I've driven in my mates drag car RB24 T88 and he showed me when he put it to the floor off boost it felt like we weren't even moving, same thing when I went my other mates drag rotary, drag cars r crap for street cars. Whereas an LS1 will fry the tyres on tap, hence why they make such good burnout cars, also look how successful the v8 supercar category is, those cars r music to my ears.

the OP is completely correct in saying that the HSV r a superior street car, to say there crap is very narrow minded. Kinda not sure if u realise, but um yah formula 1 cars are..... 2.8 litre naturally aspirated V8. The GTR has it's place for the track most certainly (top speed, cornering and 4wd)

And your the only person I know in the world who has -5's on there R32 GTR but yet u haven't ever been on a dyno, not once for a tune or dyno readout, which is really weird and dodgy, I mean for all u know u could be detonating like crazy or loosing massive amounts of power from not tuned. So it's hard to comprehend how u can elaborate on such maters that's all.

Mmm I am a wanker now. Ok find me a review that puts a corvette or camaro in front of a GTR. All the ones that I have read don't and furthermore comment on how much of gap there really is... but let's do some burnouts that will be fun!! Typical.

Disco what planet are you on. At no stage have I ever said I have not dynoed my car. If I have can you quote it for me. I don't care much for dyno figures they are just tuning tools. Mph and circuit times is all that matters.

But again some people like their graph and wouldn't have a clue about their own and their cars capability. But doing burnouts in walkinshaw supercharged HSV... these guys are legends.... I am going to put my alfa33 with 60kw in reverse now and smoke up the street which will make me an awesome driver... .not.

In saying all that my mate has a gtr r32 which ran a 10.9 on pump fuel and running twin turbos still with bugger all lag and on a launch it took off faster then mine and it feels so much faster and that's a street car stock transmission and wasn't even a perfect run and got kicked off.

Don't bag out my turbo lag it gives your V8 a chance :P

U said you've never dyno'd your car hence don't know how much power it does or does not make. And again with the burnout thing, your being very narrow minded, although I've never done burnouts in my car, have u ever been to a burnout comp such as summernats or motorvation, it's awesome to watch them tearing it up, infact there actually trying to make it an official motorsport like drifting.

(may need to right click to open)

^now tell me this V8 Holden isn't good, it was that good he got banned 4 life

well if it was on the dyno, u would have a dyno printout to show how much power your makin wouldn't ya. Best we agree to disagree. HSV better 4 the street, GTR better 4 the track and thats my final say

I took the new VF HSV R8 (340kw) for a test drive and its a very capable car for a large sedan. It's quick enough. It also got a lot of attention.

The exhaust sounds excellent. It has presence externally and is a great place to be inside.

The VF GTS should do low 4s 0-100 and I reckon a 12.3 1/4 mile. I would not be suprised if it gets Motors car of the year, if basing it on the R8 is anything to go by.

Maybe on paper but the yanks struggle to get those numbers on their corvettes. At look at the tyres they use on a lighter car. Think their dreaming if that what their quoting. You would struggle to crack 5.

Ill have it paid off in just under 5years and I pay 7% interest.

To be honest I think after that time it should still be worth a minimum of $80k just look at the gtr r34 the value of them and look how old they are.

Holden r now offering no interest and no deposit finance, so thats another incentive (although I'd never buy brand new, some might)

It's good 4 future employment, given the economy atm and how many workers they've already layed off, Holdens is 5 mins from where I live. They prolly wish here was like the UK and US who never allowed Skywines into the country until recently, but glad we get to decide on what we want

no I was talking about real world results - Road and Track showed the ZL1 Camaro as being about .4 seconds slower than a 2012 GT-R on a racetrack for example.

They're not dreaming about 4 sec 0-100 times - I'm really starting to doubt that you ever owned an LS2 given that if you had a cammed and stalled one it should have been giving a similar level of performance.

if anything we should be supporting our local product - if Holden goes, so does Toyota and poof 50000 jobs gone.

Holden will be shutting down by 2018 and it's got nothing to do with the local market. The yanks dont give a shit. Hence fords demise and Holden to follow. Apparently GM Australia posted it's biggest loss ever. Bullshit, just an excuse to centralise all their manufacturing and create one platform globally even though they have raped us Australians for handouts to keep our jobs. If you don't believe me just google it. The signs are all there.

These are my views base on real life experience.

I have 3 cars vz clubby which is cammed and stalled, r33 gtr modified and my fun daily Alfa 33 ti. My view is the gtr should not even be placed in the same sentence as a falcommodore. And as for a 35 I could only imagine the pleasure in driving that. I often go on mountain drives and have taken all 3. HSV is by far the worse. Stupid and dangerous chasis, brakes are no better probably because of the chasis, boring to drive because it's just turn in wait for the oversteer and power out. These are just ego cars not driver's cars. Gtr I am not even going to do describe and can't even imaging how good the 35s are if you have the skill. The Alfa 33 is an amazing little car and I can throw that around the twisties like go cart. The Italians really designed this car for driving pleasure. Amazing 1.5L twin Carb motor screams and the chasis is so balanced and progressive. Fwd doesn't under steer like the Japanese cars and you can have a ball with just 95 kws. So in conclusion. Alfa to put a smile on your face and stay legal while still teaching you how to handle a car (sorry it just keeps dragging me in), gtr for it awesomeness enough said, falcommodore for.....for..... nothing really unless you want a v8 to say you have owned one or skid and drifting but Gen and ls engines don't like hitting the limiter too often.

For the doubters so they can stop attacking me personally and questioning my integrity. Took this in the morning before work.

I don't know why you own one then given how you bag them out constantly based on crap you make up, yet make out like your R33 is god's gift to motoring

I doubt your integrity because of your rubbish comments about LS engines, as well as trying to imply that every Holden / HSV owner drives like a f**kwit. Not to mention your endless fanboi comments bagging out anything locally made.

As they say, if the label fits, wear it - you mention track usage, I mention that when using an R35 for its intended purpose on a racetrack, then it should be compared to the GM equivalents, not the base model V8. I could spam links to ZR1 and ZL1 reviews, this one seems to be pretty even handed (and again the VF GTS will basically be a 4 door Camaro ZL1). Perhaps to compare to a ZR1 is unfair, as the ZR1 is a class above the GT-R in terms of pricing and performance, so I'll stick to the ZL1 (also $40k cheaper than a GT-R). The performance figures are proven btw.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-reviews/car-comparison-tests/2012-chevrolet-camaro-zl1-vs-2013-nissan-gt-r-premium The review basically says that whilst the performance is quite similar, the Camaro is just the more fun car to drive (let alone cheaper to own and run)

People like you really need to get out of this ridiculous mindset that US / Aussie made = slow and unreliable, because it's simply not true when comparing apples to apples.

yah I agree, although I do concede the Japs were deffinately light years ahead at the start, hence why the GTR was banned from racing in Australia after it demolished everything in its path.

However in saying that, HSV has made huge leaps forward with there development and as u said, there cheaper to buy, run and r fun to drive and highly practical. Look at the nascars and sprint cars over in the US which r V8'S, they make more power than a lot of GTR's

    • They should do. I have S14 (or something S chassis, anyway) driveshafts in my R32 (because my diff flanges have 3x2). They're the right length. When you go looking for R32/3/4 driveshafts (for turbos), they're all the same thing, so are the same length. So there really shouldn't be any reason why those cheapies from JJ won't also fit an R34. R32/3 NA should also be the same thing. The (3x the price) D-Max ones are uni-fit. They have 5x1 and 3x2 bolt holes and say they cover all the cars. So that would also suggest that they are all the same except for the flanges. And in that case, the flange goes both ways. I'd be buying the D-Max ones if I ever have to replace a shaft. Because that will open up diff options without needing to juggle shafts also. Juggling shafts is gay.
    • Yeah with the adaptors they do look like the photo above - just the fitment within the plenum itself and then further with the rail to the intake is questionable - we shall see tomorrow hopefully once I get some replies from Aeroflow, maybe those bosses are the missing piece....
    • Should be fine, if you have it sitting too far in, you end up just spraying the walls and have shit idle. You "can" run them like that, however I don't think it's a great idea (also depends on your plenum, might be good to just get the injector bosses first, mock it up and see if you need to get the bottom extension) Ideally your injectors, with the extension should look like this  (Not my photos, just Google)
    • Thanks for the replies guys, it's really appreciated.  It seems the kit was supposed to come with those injector bosses but hasn't. Unsure if they'll help as even with the adaptors to make them a 3/4 height injector they still sit too far out so mount the fuel rail?
    • Hello, I am looking to replace my two rear drive shafts in my R34 N/A Skyline but I'm finding conflicting information. Do S13/S14/S15 or R32 NA/ R33 NA fit? https://justjap.com/products/gsp-premium-rear-drive-shaft-l-h-nissan-silvia-s13-s14-s15-3x2-type?currency=AUD&srsltid=AfmBOoqY7EwDaYCUoUU3mxxZ_qrUXkVVHiV4MIN7ozoar6scjnEiekv- would this fit?
