Hey guys,

Just a quick question, where abouts would you get a respray done in Tasmania? Preferably Launceston area.

Story is, bought a CF bonnet up the southern outlet one night it blew up shattered my windshield and dent my roof. Sent it into MR Dingo for dent removal while i was away for 3 months. Came back dent removal was amazing, but there is now scratches and shit all over the place.... So just a head up can't fault his work, but don't leave your car there for extended periods of time!

Pretty much just want it all sanded back, any minor dents pulled out, if any rust is found get rid of it then resprayed the same color again (QM1) Bonnet will not be getting sprayed as its not worth the money (Bought it with holes in it, buying a new CF one to attach soon)

Anyone have any recommendations? Even if its a backyard job if they do amazing work i'd be willing to chat with them :)

Cheers, Zac

May i clarify, the dents were all fixed up, but there were scratches left near said repairs? or on other parts of the car? i'm not sure if Mr.untouchable does that work anymore since he's now soft and thinking of selling his car ;) but not harm in asking, he may be able to refer someone up north who can do the work as he's based in the south.

Mmm lots of love for my car lots of hate for me ATM lol. As for the re spray, what you want by the sounds of it is a 'closed door' re spray. Bonnet off door handles out, mirrors off etc moulds/trims off and some dents sorted and some primer here and there and some new white all over? Pretty simple task whites hard to get wrong, I would estimate 4k roughly at most body shops. The higher end shops might be higher but it's not a complicated job, just time and a bit of product. I'd be a bit shy of random backyard cashies some monkey with a barrel of acrylic could make a mess of it. I don't know of any good backyarders up their either sorry

Scratches where left all over the car, nothing to do with the repair job. My sideskirts took a beating, my rear end had scuffs and scratches on it. There is hairline cracks in the paint on the roof right near the edge.

No good man sounds like he had a party around the car while you were away. As Jack said I'd be wary of random backyarders as most will be happy to charge you f**k all but give you the same. Are most of the scratches really bad or would a good cut and polish tidy most of it up? If it's not scratched through the paint to the actual primer then you'd be amazed what can polish out. Shame your not down south or I'd be interested in having a look and giving you a quote.
