Hey guys

I've had my 33 since september last year, very standard and in epic cond.

Only mods at the time HKS cat back, hybrid front mount and turbosmart plumb back.
My main goal with the car is to make it responsive as possible

After my last car being a fail in most cases (listening to people that had no idea)

I talked to Powertune Australia, discussed the options for what im chasing in my budget to achieve what im after

they did me up a full quote and i told them honestly that i can get most things through my work for better prices and they were totally understandable

overall there customer service is amazing and from the results Ive seen with friends cars and on forums ill definitely get my tune done there.

here is my mod list of what i plan

- Garrett gtx3076 .82

- powertune highmount manifold

- tial 44mm

- walbro 400lph in tank

- deatschwerks 1000cc drop in injectors

- Haltech plug in, wideband, boost control and map sensor

- drop in camshafts 256*

- Forward plenum

and all the other misc stuff around it.

Here is the car when i first got it

What sort of boost do you want to run?

Its hard to say as not too many people opt for the GTX series turbos, most stick with the GT series or recently the Force Performance HTA series (see 34geeteetee or lithiums threads).

Have a read of Angrys build thread, he was running a gtx3076r for a little bit before selling it for a twinscroll gt series.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/426934-angryrbs-r33-street-sweeper/#entry6888986

Its well known that at around 18-20psi you will see 300rwkw +- out of a GT3076r 0.82 with streetable response.

My GT3582r powered rb25 makes 330rwkw on 23psi, but its laggier than a gt3076r obviously. The GTX series turbos are laggier than their GT equivalents but they flow more, so ide say easily 300rwkw at those higher boost levels but its unfortunately going to be a bit laggier than a Gt3076r.

Also check out 6boost, ETM and Brae Fabrication for manifold choice, all steampipe like powertunes. Braes one of the newer lesser known producers but he has some epic designs, high and low mount.

For a power figure ill let the tuner run what ever boost he wants, for everday use probably 14psi for low boost and whatever i can run for high boost

i've had standard turbo cars before, nothing like this car. if i seen 300+ id be cheering!

i was considering the gtx3582 but i wasn't keen on that much lag and down the track im going to be running a ethanol sensor for e85 aswell

my tuner told me id need to run at least -6 fuel lines under the car for fuel supply if i went with that turbo

for something that probably wont see a track i couldn't justify it

ill look into those manifold thanks dude!

I think the engine will be the limiting factor, I was using a stock manifold and at 16psi it was making 320kw's, with 20psi thru the midrange the car was angry, rolling on in second at 4000rpm it would leave solid black lines, third had the back end wiggling .. and that's not pushing the turbo at all.

other things id recommend

E85 walbro intank ( cheap and easy drop in)

Xspurt 1000's ( not too bad seeing you have ffp) mine at 70% with 320kw

gate off the housing

100cell cat

( just a thought but what about a TS manifold and swap the rear for a TS? )

Yours was on e85 with that power wasn't it?

That fuel pump I plan on getting

1000cc injectors are on the list

The cat I've got is 100 cell as well

Gate of the housing?

And as far as the rear housing ill probably leave it, I don't have any doubts ill be happy with the car

I've never had a fast car before and I'm not cheaping out on anything

So it should drive the way it's meant too and be reliable

He just means run the external wastegate directly off the turbine housing, rather than off the manifold. Better boost control and you can often also save a little bit on the manifold. All thats needed is for a pipe to be grafted and welded onto the turbine housing on a correct angle. pic below shows correct angle, where you can see the gate pipe is flowing straight up off the turbine housing where the gasses do not have to make any sharp or awkward turns.

Thanks for explaining

Honestly I've never seen it like that before but I understand the concept completely

Ill defiantly consider it :)

Hey guys

Not much to show, most parts are ordered

45mm turbosmart hyper gate

Walbro 400lph e85 in tank fuel pump

Full braided turbo line kit including drain

Haltech pro plug in, wideband kit and boost control module

Turbosmart fpr800 fuel pressure regulator

Powertune high mount steam pipe manifold

Genuine gaskets and exhaust studs

Only thing I'm waiting for is my 1000cc deatchwerks injectors

Getting keen :)

Sorry it's been so long without a post guys been insanely busy

Went to powertune about 8 weeks ago

On 98 octane, 21psi it made 309.2 kw at the wheels!

Very happy with the result the way the power comes on is very smooth and controllable which is good as its my first car

Now I've got a lay by for a e-flex sensor and going down the track of e85 and dual maps :)

Hey guys!

It's been a while been flat out with work and stuff

The skylines going really well, the only problem

I WANT MORE POWER!

I've picked up a second hand block, considering building it and a head.

I'm uncertain what path to take

Is the car going to be reliable stock on a flex tune pushing more on e85?

If so does anyone know what kind of number I'd be looking at??

For now I'd love to do upgraded fuel and run a flex sensor to get more out of the current set up

But long term I definitely want a fully built motor :)

My goal would be to max the gtx3076 .82

After recently going for a drive in a friends gt35 powered 33 I don't think I could deal with the lag lol
