benm - fair enough, but where do you draw the line? if you just want to go to the strip and run as quick as you can, why not buy a cheaper, lighter car, stick a more powerful engine in it, strip it, put it on slicks and keep it strictly for the strip?

in otherwords, where do you draw the line?

Well if you after time slips, then do it. For me i like to know what i do , every day of the week, not 1% of the time.

I draw the line with the fact that I love skylines :(

I used to be like that too but too many cops up here to worry about anything on the street. The more you have available the more likely you are to use it and unfortunately I can't do anything silly for the next 2.5yrs so for me personally it is all about the track (drags/circuit).

I find circuit more fun but drags more challenging.

this is also how i feel....

i think there are 2 seperate groups...

1 group who goes to the strip to see what time they can run

1 group who goes to the strip to see how fast they can go

Cheaterers will all blow there own horn saying but how is it different from this and that but at the end of the day they have ran a quick time which if we leave the street aspect/side of things out of the converstaion is all that matters, it doesn't mean there car is a xx sec street car they know it and so does everyone else that knows they are using 2 power adders 1 of them being illegel on the street

It all comes down to if your a drag racer and want quick times no holds bared or if your the every day Joe blow who wants to see what there car can run in street trim, neither way is wrong or right they are just different

i could watch two ride ons drag race if they were quick enough.....especially if they were on the bottle

So using NOS is the equivalent to city driving

then there should be no problem using it on the track as one canceles out the other

there are rules for the road and rules for the class you race in .it does not get any more complicated than that.if you want to drive a illegal car on the raod then go right ahead, thats what the police are there for ,not opininated dcikheads on forums.the same goes with the track if you want to compete in a class of racing you do so via the rules ,thats andras role to police.if the rules state two power adders then use them or fall behind or shut up whinging.if you want the rules changed then jason ohalloran is the man to voice your opinions to

benm - i'd probably agree with you there as well :(  = addiction

but for now i'm still on the "what time they can run"

I go there to beat my pb every single run. Out of around 30 runs i've only beaten my pb 2x (by about 0.0x sec) and the others have all been within 0.2sec or just complete flops (0.5-1.0sec). I could prolly find about 5 excuses as to why im not getting quicker and quicker but im sick of excuses.

Due to work im not sure when i'll be able to get back to the strip, hopefully i'll have the car (engine) tidied up a little bit more so that it is running consistent enough for me to lay some decent times. My goal is still a 12.99sec or better by 30/12/04 which will either take money and/or just more experience/practice.

    • If that's the wiring from the factory, I'd be inspecting the loom everywhere.   Any signs of that anywhere else, and seriously, I'd get rid of the car ASAP before the electrical gremlins make it worthless, or it goes up in flames on its own. That is scary how that insulation is failing!
    • I should note too as I have all 4 wheel speed inputs to the emtron I now have the emtron controlling the attessa solenoid for 4wd/traction and launch control strategies.
    • It works quite well with the adjustibility within each of the programs of the turbolamik. Essentially p1 is drive and lockup comes on like a normal driver.  But in program 7 I have customised it to not request the lockup clutch to engage until something like 6500/7 when slip was the lowest.
    • Yep, I like that. The tags are only on the first post of a thread and we don't get huge numbers of new threads. Also, I plan to add some more report types and we could have a member report type like 'review tags' then members could flag if they thought a topic wasn't tagged correctly.  No way man, I dig the input. Thanks!
    • It's a valid thought. There's not exactly that functionality already (when creating a thread) - that's where the OP can use/create any tag they want. We'd have to come up with a way for the user to request their tags get reviewed or something. Otherwise the mods would have to review every new post's tags (for those that have them, anyway). There's kind of that functionality already exists to some extent, post facto of starting the thread, where the OP or any other user could report the post to admins, and request that tags get reviewed. We could do this already, and any user could already have made such a request. To make it a part of the forum proper, it would require an initial and an ongoing education programme, so that people know that it's a thing. OP based tagging/request for review would also require at least some (probably most) of the user base to be told that it's a thing they can do. Both of these things probably wouldn't spread too far and/or get used very much. If it was the standard approach on a lot of different sites, then it might do, because people would be used to it. Prank's approach to this differs from my original thought, by leaning into tagging. Which is fine - it's possibly better than what I originally suggested. In fact, I just went to the R32 GTR wiring diagram thread and added tags, including "Library". That's probably a good way to use tags and the idea of a library. We just have to drag together an (organised!) index of threads or posts that have that tag. I have yet to do any of my own follow up by pursuing worthy threads and posts and reporting/marking/tagging them for the library, such as the @Sydneykid stuff I was talking about, and possibly any amount of @Lithium 's and others' posts. At least if I tag them Library, we'll have a start.   Back to @Wazmond's idea as it relates to @PranK's, we might have some sort of a list of tags that are already used to scrape for this library. I'm not entirely sure how that would be presented or used, particularly if it got long. But it's yet another idea!   cheers
