I don't know much about these diffs, could someone help me?

I want to be able to swap from awd to rwd when i like without worrying about blowing the front diff because of different ratios, so I'm looking at swapping the centre as i think it would be easier and cheaper than sourcing an LSD that's a direct swap.

Not quite sure what you're planning but there are a few options:

1. get a pair of GTR diffs (non V spec) that will give you a mechanical LSD in the rear and virtually the same ratio as now - 4.1:1 instead of 4.08:1

2. Get a Nismo GT LSD for your rear diff (and a Quaife for your front diff if you are flush!).

Wouldn't you just be able to use a std or nismo lsd and place in your housing using your crown and pinion wheel .

That's what I intend to do using the rs4s diff and cradle I have put in my s1 , but then swap my crown and pinion into it so ratios match my front diff, also ill get stronger axles that way and try and stop the whole snapping thing again .

I went for option 1.

I have GTR diffs partly for the LSD and also to get the GTR half shafts. Front diffs are regularly thrown way here when people stick RB26s in 2wd cars so the front diffs are easy to come by. I got a complete rear end (diff, axles brakes) for $500.

Thank you for the replies :)

Kiwi buying 2 diffs is a little on the expensive side for me, I wanted to spend as little as possible.

4bidn1 that was my idea, I was just unsure if all LSD centers fit as the r200 has so many variants from early 240z to today. Are they all the same?

Manual stagea rear cradle and diff = mech lsd :) but diff ratios Are diffrent from auto stags so need to change my crown and pinion with my old one to match the front and rear ratios back up,that and get rid of the hicas
