R34 4 Door Engine Numbers

Had a look at a 4 door 34 today, it's definitely been converted from auto to manual however the engine plaque says rb25de not det, but it's defiantly turbo and been registered and complied as such.

Doesn't seem right to me, anyone shed any light if they never had det on the chassis plaque?

If the engine is de and the body plate says de but there is a turbo, then it's simply had a turbo bolted to the de engine. This is a somewhat common mod. It just means you have to be careful with how much boost you run.
