Hey guys I have an r32 gtst and I just changed the spark plugs and oil, the spark plugs are a ngk bcpr6es-11 gapped to 0.8mm, the oil is penrite 10 tenths racing/street oil 15w-30 it is a PAO and ester mix,

After I changed both of them it started missing under full throttle acceleration, it would only miss at around 4-5 thousand revs and I dont know if I have done something wrong with the spark plugs or I chose the wrong oil?

Hi Josh,

Nothing to do with the Oil.

Those Spark plugs at those settings should not cause the miss fire either.

However reset the plug gap to 1.0 or 1.1 (greater the gap the greater the spark)

Check the coilpacks.

Perhaps removing the coilpacks (depending on age) may have unearthed a pre existing issue, minute crack, with one or more of them.

If need be try to identify if any one of the coil packs is the issue.

Was there any issues prior to changing plugs? or just doing maintenance ?

check the gap of the old plugs too

Do a search as there are many many threads on this subject.

Could be coil plug connection being loose, or the condition of the coils itself. Still have the old plugs? Measure the gap on them.

I wouldn't bother opening up the plug gaps, that will never fix a miss. Check coil loom, coil plug's and coil packs

When you removed the coilpacks did you check if they had the carbon brush or only the spring HT connection?

Often with these older models the spring will need a bit of a stretch and a clean up to ensure it's contacting the plug.

I would pull out the plugs again and check the gap, last time (stupid me) I banged the tip of the plug getting it in and I essentially "regapped" the plug smaller LOL...

yeah i agree with all the above. . crusty coil pack wiring OR carbon tip on the coil packs can drop off without much provocation
