Next step is to take it to a wheel aligner, find out what your caster is and set it to something sensible.

There are various schools of thought on what is "sensible". Some people say "as much as possible".....which pretty much amounts to making the rods as short as possible, with the caveat that you should make sure the caster difference left to right is the right way around.

I'm of the opinion that cranking the caster rods much shorter than factory puts an unnecessary amount of loading into the lower inner suspension bush. You are twisting the arm forwards in the horizontal plane and the bushes are designed to resist that. I am dead sure that when mine are pulled all the way forward the suspension is much more resistant to compression. It feels tight and it drives tight and it makes me worry that I'm going to flog out pivoting stuff that doesn't need to get flogged out.
