aye?

I don't get what you mean Mat.. it's a 6 bolt flange plate that has a pipe welded to it and goes to a 2x bolt flange before the cat...

I is confusion

Actually it is a muffler just in a round cannon shape! The big body on it muffles sounds really well.

ah k my bad, mine came with my car just assumed....

HKS Super Dragger by far is the most quiet exhaust I've heard on a Skyline.

It consists of 1x resonator, 1x mid muffler and 1x rear muffler. It might be huge, but it's quiet. It's more quiet that the HKS Hi Power Silent, etc...

I recommend for you:

- JJR dump pipe (cheap as shit)

- Venom Cat 3" pipe / 4" body

- 2nd hand Japanese, JASMA catback

Won't need a FMIC for 0.8 bar of boost. The R34 SMIC is more than sufficient.

this is pretty much what ive gone for,

when i went to get a roadworthy though the mid muffler was removed, had a hole in it and was making my car too low

later on went with

jjr front dump

and spoke with the guy from venom and ended up with they 5" body 100cell i think

but i did have an issue with mine and my brothers (we bought 2 of the cats) was told they were same on the 180 and r33

but when mine was bolted up, wouldnt fit, the frontdump had to be twisted to make the flanges meet up correctly, thought it was just an issue with mine

when my brother got his fitted, same thing although his fix was just to reflange the cat... dont know what was the issue but i did speak to him again and he said he'd recheck his cats

also reimbersed me for some of the coin for having to modify it.

but overall with that setup its still really quiet

I'd get a second hand Jap system from the wreckers, that's what I did, The HKS mufflers ive seen are basically a big hollow cannon with a restrictor inside, I have a fujitsubo muffler that's identical gives the same sound for sale, there quiet down low but get angry on WOT..

I think what your after is either a Jap system/ muffler with restrictor or a proper oval muffler on the end such as an Xforce,

what wrecker did you go to for skyline bits? Might give them a visit over the next few weeks and see if i can find one. Otherwise, i don't mind paying for a new setup...

As i said earlier, my mate got his custome made from Performance exhaust in Northmead (I've heard good things about that place) for about 1.2k for his s15.

hey it was a wrecker in brissy, slacks creek on moss st, was $200 for the catback which was a 3 1/2inch stainless system with quiet muffler, which I have for sale if interested, so pretty good value

id be reluctant to spend 1.2k on an exhaust, spend the money on an ecu and turbo the exhaust doesn't have to be fancy and shiny, theres guys selling in classified so have a look at that before wasting on a brand new system.

uhk yeh, been looking in the classifieds.. not too many for 34's, but i'll keep an eye out.

Not too sure where i can find a wreckers here in nsw for jap cars.. anyone know of any?

I know there's skylinespares in wetherill park, but havent had the chance to call em up yet.

SOO, i was about to buy a kakimoto regu 06&R second hand, however after reading the serial plate on it (N21354R) i realised this is a 70mm pipe, 2.5".

Just to confirm, the stock 34 GTT exhaust is 2.5" already right? Which means in buying this cat back system, I'd just be wasting my money and won't achieve any power from the same diameter pipes?

The seller posted it as a 3" system, however I'm assuming he measured only the outer diameter of the pipes.

Yeh, i'm looking at a Fujitsubo Legalis Super R at the moment.

It's 3.5" piping. Considering I don't really have any other power mods at the moment (except for a MBC), will the 3.5" piping be too big? Like, will i not gain as much power from having 3.5" than I would if i had a 3" with my current setup?

I don't plan on getting a new turbo or ECU yet, due to lack of funds, but i understand the 3.5" would be great for when i do upgrade those.

But yeh, just wondering if the 3.5 is too big for me atm, and if i will lose some gains as opposed to having a 3".

3.5 will be fine mate! Will be louder than a 3" in most cases especially being an "off the shelf" item! Be good to hear what it sounds like!

My 3" really needs upgrading but it is SO quiet i just cant justify it as its still making power!

All tube is measured outside diameter so a 3 inch system isn't actually 3 inch internally. To confuse the situation more the Japanese use metric pipe sizes, 70mm, 80mm 90mm OD while we, for some stupid reason, still use imperial measurements.

3.5 inch will be much louder than a 3 inch system but again, the Fujitsubo isn't 3.5 inch. What size do they quote, 80mm I think? If it is a Jasma system it should be very reasonable noise wise, the Legalis I had on my Stagea was almost legal Db over here.

Yep my Apexi is Jasma rated and quiet!

sweet thanks guys. It's a private seller, and he's listed the features:

3" @ Flange
3.5" Pipe Througout*
4.75" Resonator
6.5" Cannon*
5.25" Tip

Maybe he's also just measured the OD and it's really 3" ID for the pipes?

Also just wondering, will a R34 GTR exhaust system fit onto the GTT?
