Hey there everyone. Although i own a Silvia (s13) I'm doing the age old RB25DET conversion on it for a Drift Pig. :P I came here purely for the knowledge that you all you guys possess about the sweet 25's. I plan on going above the 400KW mark, been reading through build threads all morning. I'll be running a 26 crank with rods, ect. any info / tips you guys have are much appreciated! As well as shops you guys use. I've got a few mates with Skylines and i guess you could say that Power FC limiter made me fall in love with the 25.

Cheers Andrew.

An S13 is pretty light, even an RB25 stock engine with bolt ons will give you a responsive 300-350kw which should be more than enough! No need to build an engine!

Spend the money wisely on bolt ons and maintanance and enjoy, but dont limiter bash an RB too long or bad things happen!

Keep cruising around and reading! When mine was making 350kw it was hard to get the power down to the ground through decent 265 tyres.... Now with 390ish it is going to be harder again! Keeping in mind my car is a few hundred kilos heavier than the S13! Get a stock engine with all the good bolt ons and screamer pipe (You said its a drift car) and you will impress your mates lolz

Yeah that is true, but traction isn't really a thing you need at the rears on a drift car. But still a valid point none the less.

To a degree it is i believe, you still want to be accelerating forward and have some form of grip.... Otherwise the run would just be a powerskid, different sport :P

Maybe in a year or two at winton? XD

Lol get back to me when you are ready!

For now, do your research on here! So much good info!

Have a look through my build thread in my sig to show what bolt ons can do to a stock motor!

but srsly, as mat has said above, bolt ons and maintenance for what youre going to do with the car.

have a read of his build thread, youll see whats achievable with bolt ons.

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
