Welll i finally got around to trying to diagnose a stalling, running rough symptom i've been having with my car which caused me not drive it for the last week.

well luckly its been the first thing i've checked was the AFM

i disconnected it and tried running the car to see if the idle would still be rough, and it ended up idleing fine which has made me believe the AFM is at fault. I've also swapped it with a mates AFM which ran pretty much fine.

The AFM which l think is the problem is from a Non Turbo r32 but still has green label. Would that be the reason its messing up or is it just stuffed?? Does anyone know the model number of the rb20det AFM so i can double check its the same?

I tried giving it a clean with the CFC contact lense cleaner which helped slightly but not fully.

yeah from experience don't remove the mesh.

Well my problem is now fixed. Firstly tried cleaning it, which failed to work, so got my hands on another AFM, and now it runs so much better and even now has a stable idle.

Though even better was that i've also just replaced my O2 sensor, spark plugs and regapped to 0.8 , coolant temp sensor, and cleaned out my ACC valve, and holy shiet, it runs so much better. Very pleased now!!

Depends if the old O2 sensor was stuffed.

I get just under 500km's to a tank with general running about. All within 50-80km' areas.

I've always used Nulon Total Fuel System Cleaner in the past however lately I hadnt. It dropped to just over 400km's to a tank, I used a bottle of Nulon Total Fuel System Cleaner winthin a tank or two it brought the economy back up to just under 500km's per tank.

It appears I need to use that Nulon stuff every 6 months otherwise my fuel consumption starts to drop.
