HELP!!! defected again and first EPA.........

Recommended Posts

The person that told you about the turbo timer needing to be removed for EPA test is an idiot.

EPA are only interested in your cars emissions; they will test your exhaust emissions and check under your engine bay for BOV's, intercooler or air pod - one or the other.

Turbo timer does not affect your cars emissions so you dont need to remove it. However a boost controller would need to be removed.

Somebody mentioned something about not having a Turbo Timer? I have an EPA test on my 32 GTST on November 10th. The car is pretty much stock apart from exhaust and frontmount. I'm not sure exactly how loud the exhaust is, but it isn't one of those 1s that rumbles all day long, pretty quiet on idle too. So basically, turbo timer must be removed for EPA testing????? :)

Lads good tread i am from WA wat is wrong with boost controlers if noise and edmisions is wat the are after

i have an eboost2 looks like a gauge but i sopose the solanoid would get you done

wat if your hoses were black and not red or yellow you no not as obvios would that help

They are not after noise emissions on a Full Test.

The are after ALL Emissions.

WA is nothing like Vic. I've seen what you guys get away with over there. Its nothing like here.

A Boost controller gives you the ability to alter the cars boost level, which alters the emissions = illegal in Victoria.

The EPA are NOT stupid. They know what to look for. Been there, done it. You "can" hide some things. But for the most part you cant

there is nothing wrong with it at all, i use it a ridiculous amount.

If im looking for things or posting links in the FI section to help people out

Its not against the rules at all, but people some courtesy and common sense.

There are a number of people here who answer these questions day in and day out. Threads like this are a dime a dozen

Give them some justice and not make them post these things up every 2 weeks.

taso, make sure you click the "search title" button instead of the search post button..

you get more useable results that way :D

No offence to the designer of the search tool, but really it finds jack Sh^t.

Plus is it against the rules to ask questions on the forum or something?

yeah i just passed my EPA today. yay..

all they check is BOV, boost contoler, thay you only have 1 intake mod, emmisions levels<that you have a cat> , nosie and that you have std ecu<via console port i think>. They are pritty nice guys after they were done my mate tried to convince him that the pfc could have less emmisions than the std ecu.. haha

Did you know your allowed to have a pfc if you pass a full labratory emmisions test. too bad the test is 4k per try. <_<

yes, its common knowledge about the test.

But what you find out if you inquire more is that if you fail it. You loose your $$$ on the spot.

There is no credit to return for a retest

And the test is around 3k if i recall correctly
