Unknown Rb25 Neo Part

Hi all, just wondering what this pipe is that runs from the head into the bottom on the block? On my engine I purchased from a wrecked car it wasn't there and I have no idea what it is?

Sorry should clarify that I don't know if the engine in the picture is a Neo but mine is and I can't remember it being there.

Is it? Just popped up on my Facebook and I was like what the fark is that thing. I just checked on my engine and yeah it is blanked off. Cheers.

NEO's do not have that drain / breather pipe.

Why Nissan deleted it, i have some idea. The restrictors for the oil feeds are much much smaller in a NEO than a non NEO RB25 due to the solid lifter's requiring less oil - Therefore less oil in the head negating the need for the 'drain'.

I still think they should have retained it though. But some engineer deemed it not necessary.

Your's is a street car yeah with factory oil pump and so on yeah? You can forget about any oil control issues.
