What is the fault?

You can test the wiring from ECU to CAS to see if the fault is there. Otherwise pull the CAS out and see if it spins nicely, if its tight or woobly etc it might be causing an issue.

Other then that im not sure what checks you can do on the CAS itself. Easiest thing would be to try another known working CAS on the car

What was the issue mate? I'm facing a similar problem at the moment.

Hey mate for me it happened to be y he vct solenoid that had blown which caused everything to be out of sync... No vct in other words when there was supposed to be.

Replaced it turned key and boom back to normal
