LOL dodgy gauge, idiot.......

They run 7-8psi stock. Add free flowing intake and exhaust, hey presto you got 2 more psi...... :(

My car's got an upgraded free flowing intake and exhaust and it only runs 7-8 psi on stock boost.

I have a R33 gtst serie 2 I changed my pistons and bored the block to 2.7 and now my car is running 10 psi standard and i think its fuel cutting cause when it hits the 10psi its losing power and it fuel cuts i think. What could be the problem?

g'day fellas, i tried the high boost mod yesterday,. I don't know if its a placebo effect but it seams a little better. The only thing is that the stock & blitz boost gauges still only say around 5 psi. I'm sure i hooked it up properly. :D (Its a bit rough, but am i on the right track?) Thanks for any suggestions.

As soon as i installed my dump/front pipe base boost went from 7psi to 8.6psi.

yeah my s2 after putting on cooler, 3" turbo back and filter, spiked to 9psi on the dyno.

hey guys, ma R33 runs 5 psi at all times even over 4500 or 5000 rpm still runs 5 psi and sometimes when u put ur foot hard on the pedal and take the rev to 4500 or 5000 it runs 5 psi and starts cutting. anyone can help me with taht any ideas???

.5 bar is only like 7 psi!

yea mate im sure im running 5 psi only the gauge has 5 psi 10 20 25 30 psi. i trired my mate's aftermarket boost controller and turned the boost up to 10 psi, when i took it for a drive on high rev it and its ruuning 10 psi and then it starts cutting and goes bak to 5 psi

why after we dyno'd and proved that this mod does nothing at all, do people still flood the thread and keep modding their cars to do it? maybe i missed something, has anyone else done a before and after dyno of this? or am i the only one who bothered to actually see if there were real results

so are you saying more boost doesn't make more power, or just that the peak power was no higher with this mod?

mid range power clearly increases when you increase the boost from 4psi to 7psi, it is enough to actually be noticeable when driving. Of course peak power does not change because even from the factory it gives 7psi boost at high revs.

do you have 2 full dyno graphs before and after including midrange?

should do, my understanding may be wrong, but if you did two dyno runs and the only adjustment was the switch and they are 99.5% the same that means there is no difference right?

ill look for the link of the graphs, may be on SDU

my post form last time

my dyno post

i suppose when you look at that you will get 1-2kw in mid range, but seriously for $80 a wind up boost tee will make a hell of a lot more difference

this was done on back to back runs at the sau dyno day last year. dead stock car. only mods were apexi panel in stock box and this mod. i certainly feel the difference when i drive.

red line - normal (two stage boost)

green line - switch on (high boost)

I believe this whole add an exhaust and intake and magic extra 2psi is bull.
As soon as i installed my dump/front pipe base boost went from 7psi to 8.6psi.

I serviced my side mount intercooler with carby cleaner- extra 2psi

I serviced my throttle body with carby cleaner- extra 1 psi

Had to turn DOWN the boost controller.

So exhaust/intake mods will DEFINITELY produce more boost because the turbo can flow more air and do it faster.

I just did this mod yesterday, i'm loving it, although it does drink the gas a bit.. but who cares!

I used a lug, and just bolted it onto the bracket for the solenoid, and cut the black wire, and crimped in a earth to the lug.

Going to install a switch w/ led, once I get around to getting a boost gauge, and i'm going to mount it in the glovebox, I don't really want to rip apart my interior, wanna keep it sleeper as possible ;)
