which wire in the ecu do u planning on hooking it up ?

i made a little switch for someone ages ago.. it had a led on it that used to flash when it was on etc.... there was 3 pins..

1 went to the power source, 1 to the ground and other one to the power source (white wire i believe) on the solenoid (not the ground wire like normal.. but we did permanantly ground the ground wire..)

if that helps at all

Well I just did mine last night and it works a treat. I actually got the switch upside down but I don't care. Mounted the switch on the dash behind the wiper wand and put the ground wire on the transmission bolt rather than in the engine bay. Shaweet!!!!!!

did u end up hooking it up to a wire on the ecu ??

not trying to be a smart ass :( im just curious as to which wire it goes to on the ecu ??

Yes. I did it as per my previous post

ya but which wire on the ecu did u hook it upto ???

All I did was snip the black wire which runs from the ECU to the actuator. I didn't touch the white (power) wire, and put a switch to connect the black wire back up. I didn't touch the power wire as I didn't use an illuminated switch.

My setup is abit different from everyone else's. Is it still ok to do this mod since the 2nd solenoid nipple is being used?

And if so, which wire goes to ground, white or black?

Your setup is the way it should be Wink, the way it was when your car left the factory. All the pictures on this thread except this one are horrible mutations (like mine :)).

hey sorry if this is a bit off topic but does anyone know where the return air tubing on the solenoid goes to? i know it goes back to the intake somewhere but i cant find the exact spot. my solenoid has been removed and i wanna check if the hole has been plugged up properly.

Pics would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks!

this could be the most stupid question on this thread, but -

if i were to pick up one of these boost controllers and a guage, could i replace the standard solenoid with it? im an ex XF falcon man - this sh*t is space age to me, and i respect those of you who understand it and pass on your knowledge and tricks!

if it is possible to substitute the solenoid with a boost controller, what happens with the pos and neg wires from the ecu?

Sorry about the late reply.

Yes, you substitute the solenoid with the boost controller...as the solenoid essentially does the same thing just that instead of allowing more boost it actually limits your boost.

You need to install the bleeder on the pipe going between your intake pipe (after turbo) and your wastegate actuator:

Its the pipe with the white joiner bit in the middle. By looking at your boost controller I would assume you would first plug the line into the nipple marked with the arrow, then plug the other end into the remaining nipple but if that doesnt work, try the other way around. Shouldnt matter anyway.

Hope it helps

hey guys, i just got myself a turbotech boost tap, can you help me install it, this pic, which is someone elses is clear enough to show me which hoses connects up etc....basically can you use microsoft-paint or sumthin to show me which end of my boost tap goes to which part on the intake/solenoid....hope thats easy to understand, even just labelling which hose is will help out, (ie wastgate actuator hose)

i'm really new to all this but would like to do this myself

thanks

p.s do i need to return this high boost mod to factory before installing the boost tap?as i heard this mod limits the boost from going over factory levels?

can any tell me which pin the black wire goes to on the ecu? Just so that i can do the whole mod from inside the car?

& why can't i just connect the 2 pipes up that go to the solenoid to get the same effect?

Q..and is this trick worth while doing if you have a boost tap?

A>.if you already have a mbc, this wont do anthing for you as you have already replaced the boost solenoid with the mbc

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
