Do you have the standard jack with the little cut out piece that jacks on the side rail of the car? The correct way to jack the car, as far as I kno, is to jack the car and stand it with stands that have an attatchement very similar to the jack top. I've seen it somewhere, they show the adapters and supporting it on 4 sides on the rail

Now I know your not going to have them or really want to aquire/make some. So I always jack the front from the crossmember and stand on the crossmember further out. At the back, jack from the diff and stand where the lower control arm meets the body (from memory)

not sure if this is the answer your looking for but thats how I do it (This is for an R33 BTW, R32 could be different)

I use the towhooks for the front of my R33 too. And as stated put stands under the crossmember. Need a pretty low/long jack to jack it up from the crossmember if its lowered.

Id suggest making yourself some wooden car ramps too.

The other idea i toy'd with was getting four scissor jacks and getting that little piece with the cutout and actually welding it onto the 4 corner jack points. This way it doesnt matter what jack you use.

Unfortunately i though of it after the jack point got squashed :(

yeah i have to use my scissor jack to lift a corner a tiny bit before sliding the jack under to use the crossmember, stupid returnflow cooler

Costco and eBay have Blue Point style low hydraulic jacks available nowadays for about $200.

Rated at 1500Kg

Short, but can reach several jacking points including crossmembers.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
